Hello! My name is Edyn and I am originally from Altoona, PA. I am currently in my senior year of nursing school at IUP and will be graduating in December of 2020. I plan to become a Labor and Delivery nurse one day after graduation. I am very dedicated to this field and I believe I have a very warm heart. I am empathetic and can truly advocate for my client's health and well-being. I care for each of my clients as I would want my own family to be treated. I will show both you and your family that I am respectful, trustworthy, and honest. I decided to become a caregiver as I would like to get more of a foot in the door for my nursing career while building a relationship with my client. I am always available as a companion for your loved one and enjoy having different conversations and keeping spirits high. I have completed clinical rotations in Community/Home Health Nursing and feel as though I gained a lot of knowledge throughout the course that I will apply to the caregiver role. I would be more than happy to complete grocery shopping, bathing, and house cleaning for my client as well. I am also educated on many medications and can provide assistance to my client if needed. I am very empathetic and caring when it comes to others. I am very patient with others and I am a great listener. I have a strong sense of integrity and other trustworthy characteristics. My parents have been in the field of caring for residents and I have always been around it. I know how to act accordingly and keep a professional bearing. I enjoy conversations and insight of what the elderly have seen throughout their lifetime and I'm interested in them just as much as they may be about me.

I am a 20 year old mother of 2 babes ( I know, crazy!) I would prefer to work day shift but am open to anything. I have 3 almost 4 years experience in home care and I have my own vehicle, insurance, etc. I am really easy to get along with and I love people.

I'm at time in my life where I'm ready to give back. I've learned over the years that if people can stay in their own home they tend to live longer. If I can help people with the little things that means the world to them. I've spent some time with my Uncle with on set dementia just helping them out and I enjoyed every minute.

After caring for my ill parents, I entered LPN training to become a nurse. Allowing people to remain at home, rather than be in a nursing home was a goal of mine as well for my parents. I like working with individuals and small groups, so that I may give them the care that they need and deserve. I have been a nurse for 14 years. Taking care of 15-49 clients is not unusual and not practical to see to the needs of the clients or patients. I am seeking a position that I can optimize the care of individuals I care for.

I have experience working with Elderly and disabled individuals over the span of 8 years 5 of them I've done personal care and provided support for both elderly and disabled individuals. I've exercised an awareness for many ailments and challenges these individuals often face and hold the individuals I care for in high regard. I've also become the caretaker for my own elderly family members over the years. I respect seniors and have a passion for bring light, laughter, and ensuring their well being by not only meeting their needs but recognizing and understanding their strengths, and goals. I have exercised the use of Functional mobility equipment including mobility and transferring. Certifications Ive acquired that I've offen found applicable have been my Holistic Nutrition certification ,CPR, and Personal Care Aide Certification.
