I love getting to know them and making a differences in their lives. I believe it's the little things that make the biggest difference. I discovered my passion for caregiving while Working at a State School taking care of mentally disabled adults. From there I went into caring for the elderly. There was no turning back for me. While caring for her, I realized that I had found my calling. I'm a 30 year old Married mother on 2 children. My son Cannon, 9 and my daughter Leah - Kay, 5 are my world. I've been in healthcare off and on since 2010. My last experience was with a 90 yr old man that quickly became family. I was his companion and partner in crime for the last 2 yrs of his life. He pretty much went everywhere with me. My son is a all star baseball player here in madisonville and for 10 weeks out of the year we have games on the weekends and I believe he was at almost every game. Since he passed I haven't worked. I adored that man and when u get close to someone like that it's difficult to jump right back into it. However I enjoy taking care of the elderly just as much as I enjoy taking care of my kids. So I'm ready to start again. I am not the type of person that just considers it a 9-5 job. I become very close with my patients and I incorporate them into my life and they incorporate me into theirs. Example : my last patient went to my son's ballgames. He would go out to eat with us and he came to my family Christmas and Thanksgiving. Then also I would go with him on. Trips and take him to visit his relatives and friends. Yes this is a job and yes I do get paid but when you spend that much time with a person they become family. So if you are looking for someone treat your family member like a 9-5 job I probably won't be the nurse for you. But if you want someone care for them and actually treat them like a person that has needs, wants, and feelings I'd be more than happy to come to work for you.

My companionship for others makes me a good caregiver. I feel that it's my responsibility to bless those who aren't capable of doing the everyday tasks that I'm able to do then that's where I come in at cause if it was me then I'll want someone to do it for me in return. I love the giving back part of my jobs love the feeling I get when helping others. I'm proud of actually working in a feild that even if I had to do it free I'll still do it cause it's more than a job to me everyone is family to me.
