I have been caregiving for the last almost 13 years. I started my caregiving journey young helping take care of family. Once I started my own family I took care of my mother-in-law for a while. After that I began working in facilities and Adult family homes. I currently have all of my CBRF certifications required by the state of Wisconsin. Which is my standard precautions, first aid/choking, medication administration, and fire safety. I will love and care for your family member as they are my own family member!!

I previously worked as a CNA for 7 years in Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Rehab facilities and Disabled homes. I have been a nurse for 5 years at Aurora Healthcare working as a float nurse in OB/GYN, behavioral health, pediatrics, family practice and internal medicine. I recently started a new position with St Elizabeth hospital in the heart and lung unit. I previously took care of a paraplegic man in his home for 3 years with a hoyer lift. I would go to his home every morning before work and give him a shower/ get him ready for the day and give him any meds or apply any topicals he may have needed. I loved doing this, I am capable and I am more than willing to help where help is needed. I currently work Monday-Thursday 830:430. I would be willing to help any times outside of those hours. I have been working in the healthcare setting since 2005. I am very passionate in what I do as a caregiver/CNA. I love what I do and thats what makes me good at what I do. I love to help people and I am a giver by heart. I enjoy getting to know everyone I take care of and treat them like family. Throughout my life I have always been a caregiver. Home health in Rochester MN started my first paid position as a care giver. Over the past 9 years I have cared for my elderly parents from the onset of terminal illness through hospice prompting me to obtain my CNA certificate where I graduated validictorian. I have also spent my life caring for those with disabilities as I have and older brother who was born mentally disabled. I became a care giver because my love to help others. I volunteered at the local nursing homes, veterans hospital and at church. Why do I like being a caregiver? I would have to say being able to help others and the history in the hearts and minds of my patients. I learn more from first hand accounts of the individuals who have live it. What is a personal achievement I am most proud of? I served in the military as a hospital corpsman for 5 years. I was deployed during Desert Storm and was able to educate and save all the marines under my care. I am thoughtful and loyal. My experiences and knowledge have further confirmed why I love what I do. Being a good Dad and Gpa are very important to me.

I have a passion for caring for people, especially the elderly. I have a lot experience with dementia patients and I love the work I do! I very much enjoy the time I can spend with my residents and the stories they tell me! I am very proud to say that the management in the facility I currently work in has acknowledged the quality of care I provide and have rewarded me with a raise and new title. I believe myself to be a great caregiver, physically and emotionally.
