I'm a kindhearted and reliable caregiver. I became a caregiver because I love to help people and it's great experience for a future nurse. I enjoy being a companion and getting to know the person I'm taking care of the most.

Two things that I love and enjoy doing is helping children and the elderly. My grandparents raised me from birth and they were my best friends until they passed. I've learned through raising 3 children and now having grandchildren that life is much more enjoyable by having patience and living every day to the fullest. Knowing that by simply being there and helping someone really adds warmth to my heart.

I enjoy being a caregiver is because I'm helping people who can't physically help there self. I've always wanted to help people this why I picked to be a caregiver I'm working with different people helping out around the house or just simply conversation seeing them happy makes me happy as a caregiver.

What had brought me into like being a caregiver was my grandpa. He has dementia and needs lots of help, so helping him out and talking to him and doing things with him has been amazing and is what I wanted to do. I have been a caregiver for 4 years and being around different people and getting to know them are really what I love to do.

My name is Melony. I have 12+ years experience in caregiving. I have worked home health and facility care. Both Assisted Living and Memory Care. During these years I have had the privilege of caring for some outstanding seniors. Some of whom needed minimal care, such as companionship. Just someone to simply be there and be a friend. Which I am always happy to do. I have also cared for seniors who needed much more. My experience with dementia and Alzheimer's is extensive. I understand the importance of safety during such a confusing time in their lives. Throughout my career I have taken every opportunity to learn how to comfort and calm the uncertainty they live with on a daily basis. I can offer activities and exercises to set their mind at ease and give them something positive to focus on. I will gladly help keep things tidy, prepare yummy meals, help with bathing/dressing, ambulation, medication reminders and more and can discuss a care plan that works best for your family.

I am very kind towards everyone I meet, I've never met a stranger. I'm understanding to the needs of the patient and will meet expectations that are required of me as a caregiver. I've always wanted to help people ever since I was little and grew up watching my mother do this job and sometimes I'd go with her and help her when she needed it. The one thing I enjoy the most from being a caregiver is making a difference in someone's life and helping them to get better if they're wheelchair bound and start standing in their own or even just giving them a listening ear. My personal achievement is taking cna classes to better myself as a care professional and to keep helping people
