Hello! My name is Samantha (Sam) and I am a scientists who would like to get back into care giving. In my early 20's I was in nursing school and worked in a nursing home and a couple hospitals in Columbus Ohio. When I was caregiving I particularly liked working with Alzheimer and Dementia patients, I found that people inflicted with these disease's need to preform normal everyday activities in order to remain comfortable and I am more than willing to help. I enjoy helping with personal care, picking up around the house, and helping prepare meals. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is, in one year I will be the first in my family to get a bachelors degree.

I am a caregiver for 10 years, all of my previous clients family treat me like their own up to this time, even their friends. I treat every client I work with as a family that's why I like this job. I grew up with my grandparents and that's where my compassion for this job is coming from. I like having conversations with them, hearing their stories are very interesting.
I am a very loyal caregiver. I started my career taking care of my elderly mother until her last breath. Though I put my life on hold to care for my mother, it was a time I consider to be a blessing. It began my love for care giving. The most recent Home Care Provider was for a client-friend I served for over 7 years. I cared for him up until his very last breath. In the 7 years I worked for him I never called in sick. I feel my expertise is adapting to the clients needs not just in the physical, but emotionally, and by way of companionship. I enjoy the career of care-giving because it truly is a career that is far reaching and meaningful beyond my imagination.
I try to understand my patients stituation and open myself so i can provide the care they need. I became a caregiver to care for the people who are in need. I am truly satisfied when my clients and thier families trust in me and are pleased with my services. The bond i built with my previous client for 12 years and her family was very deep and everlasting.
What makes me a great caregiver? Well I honestly feel like I was born to serve and take care of loved ones as well as those that cannot take care of themselves. I feel like the world is so fast paced these days that we forget about those aging around us, I have been caregiving for 7 years professionally but have taken care of my family/friends my whole life. In this field I feel like you have to have a certain amount of patience, care, loyalty and a warm touch and I with me it comes naturally. I love to care for everyone no matter the circumstances which is the reason I chose to purse a career in Nursing and I am so excited and ready for this journey with you all.
I'm a philanthropist in caregiving as I feel the want and need to pay it forward to the elderly, sick, and disabled population. I desire to help seniors because without them; our young generation would have never had the proper guidance in life. My need to give to the sick and disabled population has stemmed from very personal life experiences. What I have observed is most of the sick and disabled population are significantly left out or overlooked in many aspects of life. Compassion, high empathy, respect, patience, understanding, upbeat attitude, and a great friend are helpful personal traits that make me an exceptional caregiver. Making someone's day a lot brighter, assisting a laugh, or helping the old, sick, and disabled produce a smile on a consistent basis is my love and attraction to the caregiving sector.
Hi! This next year I will be a senior nursing student at Azusa Pacific University. I have completed over 700 hours of clinical care doing rotations that allowed me to gain experience with direct observation, medical/surgical, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, oncology, mental health, public health, hospice, and clinic work. I have a passion for nursing and helping others! I take each day as an opportunity to care for and bring a smile to the faces of those around me. I am someone who is hardworking, diligent, detailed oriented, caring, positive, adaptive, and loving. When I was growing up, my mother was in the hospital a lot and faced at home recovery as well. Due to this, I saw the importance of the care she received and recognized that when her nurse cared for her emotional needs along with her physical needs, that she was able to recover faster and also have a better mindset. Because of this occurrence, I hope to be a nurse that makes a positive impact on not only the patients physical needs, but emotional needs as well, so that they may receive holistic care. I aim to care for all my patients as if they are my family members because I believe that any patient is deserving of the best care possible!
