Hello, my name is Sarah. I am a 23-year-old mother to a baby boy. For the past 6 years I have been in an elder care and child care environment. For 4 years I have assisted with the elderly, some with special needs. I have experience with in home care providing assistance in showering, using the restroom, transfers, getting dressed, cooking, help with eating if need be, house cleaning, running errands, transporting to appointments and companionship. I am very reliable, good communication skills and punctual. I have 2 years experience in a daycare setting and 3 years of personal experience with my own child. I will be pursuing a degree in Medical Coding starting in the spring 2019 semester. I am a single mother so scheduling around him is important. I'm Stacy! I've been a nursing assistant since 2007. I currently work at UK-Good Samaritan Hospital. I have a variety of experience including; long term care, orthopedic hospital care, assisted living, home care both private and through a service, and rehabilitation experience with brain injuries. I love helping people and being a caregiver is my passion. I always treat my patients as I would want my family members to be treated.

I've been a nurse for 24 years. My experiences range from the OR, Sub Acute Rehab, and post-op Ortho/Neuro/Stroke nursing to LTC, Hospice and Home Care. I believe the qualities that make me an excellent nurse and caregiver are compassion, empathy, humor, experience, and creativity. My maternal grandmother was an RN in a small town in Maine. I spent my summers growing up with her and my grandfather, a barber, learning what they knew of life in the Maine woods. What an amazing way to grow up! I know that for every person I care for, every life story I hear, every family I comfort...I become a better version of the person, the nurse, the daughter, the friend and the mother I am meant to be. To be a nurse and caregiver was woven into my soul before I was born. It's who I am.

I have been a caregiver for 16 years now, It's all I know, and love. It brings me great joy in knowing that I help bring some comfort and peace to someone's day. I've never wanted to do anything else other than care for others.
