I am a kind, trustworthy, loving, attentive, very dependable. I have worked with the elderly since I was sixteen. I drove a 70 year old back and forth to speech therapy in Commerce,Texas. On weekends I stayed from Friday night to Monday morning with a bed bound elderly woman. I read to her, bathed her, cooked all her food and fed her, changed her when she needed changing. I have done elder care since 16 even though I worked a full time job. I took care of my terminally ill father for a year until his death. I did everything. I ran errands, took him to his appointments and took care of all his physical and mental needs. I love taking care of people and I know that if the family has hired me they need respite and have someone with their loved one who is going to take the best care of them.

Helpful and happy to help those in need. Im an EMT/FIRE FIGHTER. I have worked in the medical field most of my life. I'VE OWNED MY OWN CARE FACILITY. WORKED AS AN EMT/FIRE FIGHTER. What attracted me to being a caregiver is the feeling you get helping others in need. I enjoy the comfort they feel by having that help they need no matter what it may be. I'm most proud of saving several lives as an EMT/FIRE FIGHTER.

I first got interested in healthcare at the age of 14 by taking care of my late aunt. She was a type 1 diabetic that ultimately lead to skin issues and blindness. She told me Shirley you should be a nurse. It sparked the idea. From that time on I found people in the community that needed a little help to make their daily lives easier or better they would say. Later, I put myself through collage and obtained my Bachelorsrs degree in Nursing. I got a job in the Critical Unit. Unfortunately, COVID hit, overwhelming our unit as well as the rest of the hospital(s). At that time, I put passing my certification test on the backburner because I felt the need to be on the floor doing what I could do to help. I didn't pass my test in time and so I was demoted to a patient care tech. I am still working in the CCU as a PCT. I miss my home healthcare personal job as it allows me to connect and do something for people in my community that need help. I enjoy conversations and proving holistic care. Knowing that I am passionate about making sure my clients are comfortable and happy is rewarding and makes my heart happy. My biggest accomplishment was raising my two children while putting myself through collage as a nurse.
