Hello my name is jasmeen and I'm 20 years old. I'm currently go to University of Bridgeport working towards my bachelors degree in nursing. I been a CNA for almost a year now. I honestly love what i do. I get to help other. Im CPR/ First aid certified. I also have my own to car that i can use and have a great driving record. I am an oriented professional with 20+ years of experience in child care, elderly care, hospice, cleaning, security and public relations. Volunteering on my spare time as the Vice President of New Fairfield Flash Track & Cross Country Organization.

I became a care giver because I was a recipient once and those care givers changed my life. I want to share the love and care I received from those ladies. The joy of being able to give the recipient the independence they need with my assistance in the comfort of their home or residence of their choice. I have been a care for 15year. I generally love to care for others. I have very good transportation with full coverage auto insurance.

I've been an active caregiver for the past 15 years or so, both as a live-in and live-out caregiver. Most of my working experience comes from outside of the US. I started working as a caregiver because needed a job and earn money(do not let yourself fooled by anyone that says otherwise ) and as a single mom of three you can guess that i had no choice in choosing what i considered at that time that i would like. During the years i earned so much more than money. I started out with a job and ended up with having more and more family members as each and one of the patients that i assisted become in some way my mother/father, my daughter/son and a challenge to build up my empathic skills . Ended up understanding that caregiving is not a JOB although it's paid. You treat not just people but a very fragile class of people. They definitely need our assistance in daily chores but that is not enough , they need somebody that does not define them only trough their disability. Caregiving it's not just about taking care of a body it is a 360 degree assistance which consider the person in a holistic way (body,mind and spirit) As a caregiver i might fail in some chores(nobody is perfect) but one thing that i am proud of is that as much as i could i tried to bring joy. Hard but necessary was when I had to assist patients in an point where life comes to an end. In some cases I sing their favourite song, hold a hand, give a caress to the person in need and explain to family members that it is perfectly normal to be scared or to suffer and to assure them that they are not alone.

I try my utmost best to attend to my clients needs, at all times. I love taking care of the elderly. The appreciation from my clients and their family.

My husband and I with our two little kids just moved to the east coast in October. Prior to moving out here, I have had the wonderful opportunity of working as a respiratory therapist at two amazing children's hospitals over the last 8 years. I was trained for all the units in the hospital and floated to the various units depending on patient acuity; however, my core unit was the PICU (pediatric ICU). My specialty is with issues concerning the lungs, such as asthmatics, CF (Cystic Fibrosis) patients, SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) patients, and ventilated patients. When I was 18, my mother was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. After 6 months of hospitals, my mother unfortunately passed away. During that time, I fell in love with the aspect of patient care. I wanted to be in a position to help families the way all the hospital care givers helped my mom and my family. For the last 5 years, I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to volunteer at Trails Edge Ventilator Camp. For 5 days, I am able to help 30 different kids (some ventilated and wheel-chair bound but all requiring some respiratory support) experience things that due to their disease/illness may be limited, such as going up in a tree house, riding a horse, and swimming. I love meeting families. I love being able to make a difference in someone's life. I love kids. I love my job!
