I have been working as a Licensed CNA over 20+ yrs , when taking care of my residence i look at them as my family member, meaning i would give them good quality care show them love and respect with dignity, what attracted me to being a caregiver i have watched my family member with dementia and my aunt needed a break because it can become overwhelming at times. I enjoy making my residents happy and comfortable, i have achieved a lot by going to school for mental health and doing medical assistance, ,

I have good personality and interpersonal traits, my expertise range from the basis of love care and support which i have done for many years in Cape Town South Africa. I was mainly attracted to become a care giver when i saw the need from seniors in South Africa who lived on their own and have to go on their own to the super market to buy food in dangerous areas where they can be mugged and have their money taken from them. I enjoy socializing with the seniors, listening to their past experiences and also learning from their sickness or illness be it diabetics or any other disease, i love learning more on how best they love to be treated. I cared for my late mother in-law who had diabetics and i enjoyed every minute of helping her to manage her sugar levels and monitoring and record keeping of all the readings. I am proud of the fact that i had this quality time to be a care giver in my home to my mother as well as to my mother in-law. I have also cared for Senator Jack Edward Jones in Harare Zimbabwe at the age of 18, i had the love to care for seniors. He had been mugged and tripped on his hip bone and underwent surgery, upon discharge from the hospital, i personally managed the care at home until he could get out of bed. I did bed baths and i loved it because i knew he cant do it for himself, then who else if i was present in the home, it had to be me.
I became a Caregiver because I love taking care of the elderly. I treat my patients as I would want my grandmother treated and that's very well. I like being a caregiver because you are helping someone who can no longer help themselves. They can make your day just by saying thank you and I have a lot of compassion for the elderly. A personal achievement that I was proud of was working with physical therapy with their Restorative Program, or when a resident was losing weight and I made sure she ate to put those pounds back on she had lost.
Hi, I am a jovial, outgoing individual and I am a great care giver because I enjoy people and serving people where I can. I believe that being a caregiver allows me to truly serve people and help where help is needed the most and that is something that is very rewarding for me. I am also in school to become a Registered Nurse and being a caregiver has been an amazing stepping stone to my field of choice and I believe that it is continuously preparing me to be an amazing Nurse one day very soon. One moment in my care giving experience that I am most proud of is when I was caring for a woman in the late stages of Parkinson's disease. She was difficult to understand and it was difficult for past caregivers to communicate with her. I initiated teaching her Yes and No in American Sign Language and she was able to use her better hand to respond to questions that I asked. I also initiated the company getting a communication device for her as to provide a better route of communication for future caregivers. Thank you so much for your consideration of me providing care to your loved one .

Hello there, I'm a 28 year old passionate Nursing Assistant. I'm a military brat who love taking care of people. I originally fell into this field when my grandmother got sick and was put in a nursing home because my family was just to busy at the time to take care of her. I one day popped into the nursing home and quickly saw that they were neglecting her. At that point I was so furious that I told her she was coming back home and I would take care of her. At that point I vowed to myself that I would try to help some how to keep people out of nursing homes and stay in the comfort of their own home. So I guess I do this for two reasons.. My own personal promise to keep my clients home as long as possible and that I just love the feeling of helping.
My name is Courtney. I am a 24 year old mother of a 2 year old boy. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2014, and love what I do. Helping people when they need it the most means so much to me. I look forward to assisting or even just be a companion that someone might need when they become older. This is my passion. I hope to one day go back to school and become a registered nurse. I look forward to meeting you, your family, and your loved one.
