Caregiving has been my calling and career for the past thirly years. I have worked in a variety of health care settings. However, homecare has been mostly my focus. I enjoy assisting clients to remain in the comfort of their homes. I am a self starter, diligent, attentive and compassionate caregivers. In addition, any family who chooses to hire me would be satisfied with my service. I sincerely enjoy caring for people.

I have about 32 years of experience being a caregiver. I use to own my own Caregiver agency but, it took me away from providing personal care to my clients, I decided to give that up so I could work closer with the client. I've provided care for individuals with MS. I currently work part time for the State of Washington as a certified Care Giver & I have a couple of part time clients . I feel & have been told I'm a great caregiver because I think of others first, filling the needs of others before myself. I think the best way to be a affective caregiver is to really have consideration for the fact that, it could sometimes be Very humiliating having someone to provide care for you & to treat others as you want to be treated. I always talk to my clients and helping them to see that I do understand how it feels to be able to once have done things for yourself and now to have to rely on someone else. I also forgot to mention that I have a daughter who lives with me, she's now 30 and she's been on dialysis for about 10 years and so I have quite a bit of experience in the medical field. I was also certified as a CNA for about 20 years I am not currently certified but, have loads of experience working with the elderly, I've worked on my own, in nursing homes & hospitals. I've worked for the State of California in a Veterans home for about 10 years just prior to me coming to Seattle. I've been in Seattle for 14 years.

I am dedicated to providing excellent care to my clients, I feel it shows when I come in to see my clients are excited to see me, I love to bring a smile to my client's because I feel sometimes that's all it takes to change a outlook on a situation is a smile and a caregiver who really cares as I do . I'm very physical when it comes to transferring and lifting clients. I'm the kind of guy that will ask you or my clients of their favorite song and serenade them over karaoke (which pretty much help some of my dementia clients get them right with memory(s)). My intentions are to advocate and to make sure that my clients engages in activities of daily living, doing what they love best at their satisfaction, not allowing any disability or anomalie to stop them from doing so. I would be their feet, their hands, their eyes and be an insight toward achieving what's best for them as far as their care is concerned.so far in-terms of personal achievement and caregiving, currently I had a client with dementia who after every 20 minutes forgets, her long term memory is all hazy( her husband who is with with her has Alzheimer's and helps her with her memory). So after doing an assessment I found out that she loves Karaoke. I got her daughter to give me a list of of her favorite songs. To my surprise for the first time ever she sang the lyrics without looking at the lyrics on the-phone and she sand beautifully. She even remembered all events relating to the song.
