I was raised in a family with younger siblings and started caring for others as a young child. Babysitting was my first and favorite job but as I got older, I knew more people personally that needed help as they were aging and less mobile than they were used to being. I love being able to do things around the house for them, make them meals, help them get around and just listen to their stories. By nature I am very interested in other people and their needs and it brings me so much joy to be able to help out.

15 years ago I was in desperate need of a caregiver for my mother. It was very difficult to find an honest, caring, trustworthy person to care for her. I went through several different caregivers, including a family friend that didn't work out for the job. I ended up quitting my job and caring for her till she died 9 years later. At this point in my life I want to be able to help someone that needs special care because I know the negative impact it can take on the entire family when the care of a loved one is not being met. I think the sick and elderly are at our mercy to care for them.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I have over 25+ experience. I have been in the medical field, worked in hospital setting, clinic setting and in private practice caregiving. I have a wide range of caregiver experience from pediatric, adult and geriatric.

I became a Texas EMT. I was very rewarding but we got stationed elsewhere. Then when we made it back to Fort Hood I decided to go to CNA school. Again it was very rewarding but the military moved us. Two years after we moved my grandmother became sick. Instead of going to a care facility where there is no telling how she would be treated she ended up staying at home so that her family could take care of her. Even when she would have to be hospitalized for a short period of time she would tell the nurses that I was her care giver and that she wanted me to do the tasks instead of them. I want to be your caregiver because our mature family members need great care. Not just left alone in a bed to sit.
