I have been a caretaker most of my adult life. I took care of my mother for several years while she was ill with Lupus and worked in several nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities. I understand the worry of having someone to assist and keep your love one company and ensuring that they are well "looked" after while you are away. I have been a certified nurse's assistant and activty director for both nursing homes and assisted living facilities and I understand the importance of keeping people activite and happy. Taking care of elderly or sick people is my passion. I cook very well, sew, do arts and crafts and can lead low to high elements of exercise. I know professional techniques to get my clients engaged or just make them laugh. I assist with bathing, light housekeeping and of course by this message you can tell I love to talk; and if your loved-one is a religious person, I don't mind reading scriptures or praying either. I enjoy being a caregiven and I genuinely care about my clients and their family. I just recently retired from Job Corps after working there 20+ years taking care of at risk youth in a residential setting. After retirement, I decided to go back to working with Seniors as an Activity Director and care taker.

I am a Hispanic single retired mother, grandma and friend. I love people especially children and the elderly. I get along with everyone and am friendly and energetic. I decided to start applying for part time jobs to stay active and help others. I have raised 5 children and helping a son raise his son who has special needs. I work around my yard and like walking and riding my bike around town. I have helped care for my older sister with parkinsons in the past until hospice came in to help. I also helped care for a gentleman experiencing dementia and having issues with his balance. I also have been a home health aide for about 7 persons with Carelink in the past. I would like to work weekdays if needed, maybe as caregiver, companion or to run errands.

My story : I was raised for a short period of time by My great nana and uncle . When they became sick, they were moved into hospice care. I recall doing everything I could to brighten their spirits and provide them happiness and peace. But at those moments, I discovered my calling and purpose. Working with the elderly senior generation now has the same implications. Working with each family, I offer the same comfort, love, and peace. I find myself caring for this generation as if they were my own family. My goal with each family is to constantly provide light to each individuals I serve. I have a job that takes patience and a compassionate heart. It started when I was in 7th grade when my mom miscarried at home. Once i heard her asking for help it was like instinct kicked in and I jumped in without hesitation calming her down and cleaning her at the same time. I was given a plaque from our Mayor for the heroics of that day. I later pursued my CNA license after graduation and worked in the field until a work related accident sidelined me.
