One of my favorite experiences being a caregiver are the families that I meet and become close with. They become family to me too. I took care of my husband who passed after 19 years of cancer, my grandparents , who both suffered from Alzheimer's. Spent numerous years working in a rest home & for private clients in their home. My name is Takeshia Hodge and I am 27 years old I'm currently a certified medication aide as well as a community supervisor. I am currently in the process of going back to college to be a RN. My passion is to help others that aren't able to help themselves. My passion is pleasing people!

I am capable of being a great care giver because I am attentive and not judgemental. I became a caregiver by accident, my mother lost her memory with little warning, (she was handing her own affairs well and within a few days she was incapable of managing her own affairs), and soon after lost her ability to walk, at the time I was unemployed and so became a caregiver. In spite of not having given this line of work any previous consideration. Becoming a caregiver for people outside my family acquainted me with how other people lived. My interest has always been people and spending a considerable amount of time in homes, allows me insights that other jobs don't give. Growing up I always enjoyed my grandmother recalling the life experiences that made her the type of person she was. I take pride in being a unique individual and not being just like everyone else. I am not just a member of a collective.

Well what I will enjoy about working as a caregiver is getting to know the person and learning how to assist with with everyday tasks Also being there to listen and giving them time for conversation and social needs.

You can call me Emmy. I am 28. I have been a CNA since 2013. I have my current CPR. I am currently going to LVN school. I graduate May of 2019. I am only available Mon through Friday after 4pm until 7am, Sat and Sun any time due to going to school.

I became a caregiver because my grandfather was ill when I was young I had to learn to assist with him I love to help people I started out as a CNA and then a med aid and now I am currently trying to get into RN program I am striving to be the best so that I can always be there to help people
