My name is Takeshia Hodge and I am 27 years old I'm currently a certified medication aide as well as a community supervisor. I am currently in the process of going back to college to be a RN. My passion is to help others that aren't able to help themselves. My passion is pleasing people!

I am capable of being a great care giver because I am attentive and not judgemental. I became a caregiver by accident, my mother lost her memory with little warning, (she was handing her own affairs well and within a few days she was incapable of managing her own affairs), and soon after lost her ability to walk, at the time I was unemployed and so became a caregiver. In spite of not having given this line of work any previous consideration. Becoming a caregiver for people outside my family acquainted me with how other people lived. My interest has always been people and spending a considerable amount of time in homes, allows me insights that other jobs don't give. Growing up I always enjoyed my grandmother recalling the life experiences that made her the type of person she was. I take pride in being a unique individual and not being just like everyone else. I am not just a member of a collective.

Well what I will enjoy about working as a caregiver is getting to know the person and learning how to assist with with everyday tasks Also being there to listen and giving them time for conversation and social needs.

Caregiving just comes naturally to me I simply love helping others. Lots of times I been asked the question " why do you do this" " do you like wiping butts " my reply is I love what I do and it's not just wipes and butts involved in this field. Ive always been the person to look after others and be there for someone when they don't have nobody else. I truly did enjoy it and I will love to experience the caregiving career again. I used to love being their company, assist, laugh, and chit chat with them. I have a huge respect and love for elders. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that when I worked as a receptionist in the optical, within the 3 weeks they offered me a higher position which was a "optical technician".

What makes me a great caregiver is that I'm a very loving and caring person . I love helping others. I became a caregiver when my mom became sick. I am resourceful , flexible and very determined to do thing right.
