I have the calm and quiet type of demeanor and have been told on several occasions that my voice is very calming. Basically, I get along with everyone. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is that it's my calling and what I'm passionate about. It comes very naturally for me after being in this profession for over 30 years. What I enjoy about caregiving is how it makes the person I'm caring for feel. My heart is full when they feel like I've done a job well and that's my intention. I love when my clients request me! Hey there, My name is Melody DeGrave and I live in Green Bay. I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant/LPN. I previously worked as a CNA for 7 years in Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Rehab facilities and Disabled homes. I have been a nurse for 5 years at Aurora Healthcare working as a float nurse in OB/GYN, behavioral health, pediatrics, family practice and internal medicine. I recently started a new position with St Elizabeth hospital in the heart and lung unit. I previously took care of a paraplegic man in his home for 3 years with a hoyer lift. I would go to his home every morning before work and give him a shower/ get him ready for the day and give him any meds or apply any topicals he may have needed. I loved doing this, I am capable and I am more than willing to help where help is needed. I currently work Monday-Thursday 830:430. I would be willing to help any times outside of those hours. My passion is Home Health Care. I believe that an individual should be able to stay in their home and receive cares while remaining as independent as possible. I am a confident and professional caregiver. One of my main skills is figuring out all of the client's nuances that will help me to work along with them to make cares at home as comfortable as possible. I am respectful of boundaries. Hello! I started caregiving a year and a half ago after leaving school. Initially it was meant to be an in between job while I figured out what I wanted to do, but very quickly became my passion. I never felt like I was really talented with much before, but caregiving and medication passing feels like a calling to me, something I didn't expect to be good at but just pulled me in.
