Hello, my name is Xochi, a flower in the Aztec language. However, my middle name is Amy, which is easier to remember. I have been told often that I have a big heart and compassion for others. I have been previously in the social work field for the last twenty-five years. But what came next has impacted my life and led me to the decision I am much happier in the caregiver field. I was raised by my single mother and grandmother, who passed away a year from one another in 2019 and 2020. I had the privilege to care for and be there for them both, which I see as a personal achievement. Then the light bulb went on, and I never returned to my previous job. Today, I help the seniors and disabled in my neighborhood and care for my two senior citizens, four four-legged family members, Boy a Jack Russell Bread, 16 years old, and Darla Carolina, 17.

My personal achievemens are always those "thank yous" I received when my resident would be discharged from a nursing home and their comments towards me telling me "thank you for taking care of me."

I began volunteering when I was in 6th grade for familial and religious reasons. I am now 31. The close connection I had with my grandparents made a lasting impact on who I became as a person. I learned so much from them and for that reason I've always respected elders and I try to learn from them as often as I can. Over the years I've switched from office to medical work, but caregiving has always been at least a part time job for me. I am good at this job because I learn very fast, I understand everyone likes things done "their way" and I try my best to make people feel secure. I treat all people with respect and dignity. Just how I'd expect to be treated if things were reversed.

I feel like caregiving was something I was born to do. I enjoy getting to know new people and help them with the tasks they need help with. I find satisfaction in caregiving because it feels great knowing I'm helping someone take care of there loved one. I was raised by a family member that was a CNA and she taught me to be loving and caring to others. I have worked with Individuals that display outburst behavior. I have been working with individuals that are mentally disabled for 3 years and that has taught me to be patient and kind. Being able to help families that need help really makes me feel like I'm doing a job that is really important and makes me want to always do the best job I can do for others and there loved ones.

What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I am a genuinely caring person and I put my heart into the care I administer to others. What I like about being a caregiver is that I have the opportunity to provide care and comfort to assist with relieving the medical ills of my client. The personal achievements I am proud of are: Completing my AA Degree in Biological Health and Physical Education. This has helped me to better understand many of the physical ailments a client may have. Next, completing my HHA/CNA-Certified Nursing Assistants Program, which gave me much more in depth and hands-on experience and knowledge about the professional care of clients. I am very proud to be a part of this profession and to have the capability of contributing to providing appropriate and professional care to the clients I serve.

Helping people has been a passion of mine for many years. My mother was diagnosed with a neurological disorder when I was three. For many years, I was her primary caregiver and watched her struggle with chronic pain. I started realizing that the basic stretches and exercises I was doing in ballet class could help her regain some of her strength and alleviate some of the pain she was experiencing. After doing this for many years, I also realized that what I was doing may be able to help the over 100 million Americans living with chronic pain. So, a few years ago I put all of the basic stretches, exercises, and ballet moves into a class format and began teaching. I started locally at nursing homes, schools, and children's hospitals. Then I quickly began expanding the program, teaching my Dancing Through the Pain classes all over the United States and becoming an ambassador and spokesperson for the U.S. Pain Foundation. I would love to be able to help you or your family member just like I helped my own family through times of trouble!

I am 27 and a mother of two (toddler girl and baby boy). I'm currently looking for a position where I can take my kids to (at least during the weekdays). I have cared for a 92yr old named Mabel a few years ago until she left us to become an angel. She was stubborn and sweet and I miss her so very much. I love helping people and making people smile. I have a genuine love for people and helping where I can.

I am a very friendly, outgoing individual. I have interests in many things, I have great communication skills. I have always liked to help people and feel like there is never enough one can do to help. I am currently working with children and enjoy it very much but taking care of any one and working with them to create a safe environment for them. I have a passion to assist people in many ways to make them feel comfortable and will always do everything in my power to help.

I am excellent with children and have a lot of experience with children. I enjoy being around kids and someday hope to be a pediatrician. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the joy kids bring me and the funny things they do.

I became a CNA in 2010 and continued to work as a nurse assistant in retirement homes and I loved working there because I connected with the patients and always made them comfortable. I grew up watching my grandpa take care of my uncle who was handicap . He could not walk or talk. Ever since then I've maintained a deep connection with my uncle , and felt a need to always look out for him and help my grandpa whenever I can. I would clean the house make his preped meals, give him his recommended medication and this was all trusted in me when I was around 10 or so. All in middle school and high school up until right now as we speak I go and I help. I feel that everyone around me knows me as a loving and caring person that's why I've been so attracted to in-home care provider Services because one day I would love love to be able to take care of my uncle distant future but right now I need a chance for someone to give me a chance to be a care provider because I am a very compatible person, I love to give company be company or just sit and be a companion and a great listener! One thing that I've learned about myself that I just recently found out and it is a Personal Achievement of mine, I feel is going to school to get my degree in American Sign Language and finding out that that's something that I truly am passionate about. I am so excited for the future and getting a degree in ASL and being able to teach that in the distant future. That is one thing I'm truly extremely excited , terrified, nervous, over the moon and grateful for all in one that I found ASL! I can't wait!!

What makes me a great caregiver (if I may say so myself) I'm very outgoing, I take time to understand the needs of a client and work with them for their comfort. I'm very reliable, and strong willed. I work very well under pressure, and follow rules. I have a CPR certification and have over 3 years of experience working with clients of all sorts from children with disabilities to elderly clients with mild to severe disabilities. I truly enjoy what I do and look forward to meeting new clients, as well as working with my clients every time.
