I love what I do. I love taking care of people. I'm smart, kind, honest, and a very sweet person. I have been working in the healthcare field for 16 years now and I love it. I'm very well trained in what I do. I take care of my clients as if they were my own Mom or Dad. I'm never late, always on time and willing to do what ever I can to help my client. I have worked for North Shore Hospital for almost seven years now as an on-call caregiver. I enjoy taking care my patients when I am there and I love how their faces light up with a bright smile when I walk into the room. I love listening to their stories. I enjoy all the time I spent with my clients, we have a great time together.

I have been a CNA for almost 15 yrs. I have experience in every area. I've worked in hospitals, long term care facilities, home health, hospice and I've worked with every age. I love taking care of people more than anything. It is truly my calling and I'm extremely compassionate about it. I am honest, trustworthy, and kind. I always try to make my patients smile.

I take pride in whatever I do, and work to the best of my ability to satisfy whoever I am caring for. Becoming a caregiver, was a promise I had made to my late grand mother when I was about 10 years old. I had told her that I would like to become a nurse when I grow up so, I could take care of her when she gets older. Unfortunately she did not get the chance to see me grow up, she passed away when I was 14 years old. I kept that promise and got my CNA certification 1993. Working with the elderly, gives me that feeling of pride as though I am taking care of my grand mother. I like what I do taking care of those who cannot do much or, nothing at all for themselves. It gives me joy at the end of the work day, knowing that I had done a good job by making someone happy. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is, buying a house for me and my two kids, six years after migrating to the USA from my Island Home Jamaica. That is all from hard work and ambition.

In my 30 plus years of work experience I have developed excellent customer service skills, critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. I am very punctual, organized and detail-oriented. I have 11 years of Vent Unit experience and 1 1/2 years of Rehab Unit experience. Growing up I was always one to take care of others. I like to see and help my patients and make sure they are comfortable. I like to hold conversations with them and listen to there life experiences. I am personally proud of being able to be there for my patients, encourage them along whatever there specific journey is and be a hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on.

My name is Brittany, I am 29 years old and have been a CNA since I was 17 years old and a CMA since I was 19. I have experience in home health, LTC, SNF, AL and hospital. I have so much compassion for what I do and eventually go back to school for nursing.

My personality traits that makes me a great caregiver is, Compassionate and Patience. I believe the people I care for, are my extended family and I treat them as my grand parents and close loved ones. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is, helping those that can no longer help themselves and allowing them a sense of independence at the same time. I have experience with caregiving for seven years. I've been taking care of my grandmother and also my mother as well and I also used to work for hope at home doing daily activities with them making sure they take their medicine. Take them to the grocery store doctors appointment.

I'm a great caregiver be Icare a great deal about my patients.I care for my pt's with respect and dignity and most of all I think of them as though they are a family member. I've been caring for patients for a long time in a variety of settings and one thing I love to do for my patients is to listen to them apart for caring for them with dignity and respect.One great accomplishment I've gain through the years as I care for my patients in different settings is that Itry my best to help them feel better and I know after caring for them that I've left them in a better place.
