Ive been working as I caregiver for 10 plus year. Since I was a young girl nursing is something I always had a passion for. So I be came I caregiver and it's something I love and enjoy doing... I love the fact of being able to help someone else!

I love taking care of people of all ages, and becoming a caregiver I know I can continue to give and show my love for others. I like being a caregiver because I can be able to make some one feel comfortable and relaxed in their own home or where ever care is being done, and making them feel safe and at ease. I am proud of the work I do as a caregiver because I took one client who has dementia and felt so isolated, and was very angry with her family members for moving her from her house she grew up in, took care of her parents, and other siblings, and was so independent, to her brother's house that was vacant once he passed. she felt like she was a prisioner in her own home, wasn't eating and losing weight, wasn't able to go anywhere because she would get out and fight other caregivers to go back into the house and plenty times authories had to be called. so they came up with a plan to put locks on all the doors inside the home so the care taker would need a key to get out. I started caring for her and it took me one day to have her feeling like her old self again for example I would let her help me cook, wash dishes, wipe off counter tops, fold clothes, sweep the floor, and I would let her go out side to the back of the house by her self and tell her to make sure everything is ok and come back and she always did, so I made a routine everyday that consisted of going out, chores, singing and dancing, watching television, and just talking about her growing up.

I became a caregiver to help others in need as I have helped elderly and young family members before becoming licensed as a cna. An working as a pca , hha , and ra. What I like most about being a caregiver is the satisfaction from the client at the end of the day. A personal achievement I am proud of is doing something with my life that is beneficial to not only me but my clients as well. Beneficial to me bexause I love helping others when in need and beneficial to clients because they are provided with the help that not only do they deserve but need as well. Hello, I'm Marcie I've been caregiver since I was 17 I've worked in many work settings. Nursing homes, residential group homes, home care, and now have switched to private caregiving. I've worked with Many different clients over the years. Most recently had 2 jobs one with a Alzheimer's and the other was a TBI. I just lost my last client of 8years in 2020. Over the years I do become very close with my clients and I like to get to know them and what they enjoy doing most. I enjoy cooking and being with my grandkids. I do watch my grandsons during the day too.

In March 2016 I was asked by a family friend if I wanted a job as a caregiver. My response was I wasn't sure because I had never done it before. After a couple days of thinking about it I decided I would give it a try. For the most part I enjoyed it, the lady I cared for showed me many pictures, shared old stories, and just made my heart so full. We had some hard times but we got through them. The hardest part of the job is that she had Alzheimer's and slight dementia. But you had to just be nice and everything would work out. I cleaned, cooked, did the laundry helped her to and from her chair and the bathroom and made sure she had a good laugh every now and then. In June 2016 she got ill and had to got to the hospital we found out she had a stroke and a uti so her daughters decided to put her in a nursing home. Leaving us caregivers without a job. In June I found a company called quality care and they gave me a lady who pretty much did everything for herself. She made me do all the handy work plus keep the kitchen and house cleaned. I ended up having to goto the hospital so they found her a new provider
