What makes me a great caregiver is that I care about who and what I do. I became a caregiver because I like to help people and I enjoy spending time with the elderly. I have been a caregiver for about 20 years. I really take pride when I make someone valuable.

I am a 35 year old male that has been working with geriatric clients with different forms of dementia. I began working as a private caregiver after my daughter passed away with the intentions in working in pediatrics or neonatal. I am currently attending school for my BSN and plan to finish in 2016. I have 4 boys from 13 years old down to 7 months and enjoy spending time with them.

I became a caregiver because after helping my grandmother and noticing how hard is was for her to do daily tasks I became compassionate that I really wanted to help people that need my help. What I enjoy the most of caregiving is that I make bonds and share laughs and smiles with each of the residents. I am proud of being a loving, and unique individual that helps people everyday. I am a multitask, social, caring person. I like to be involved in the residents lives and to honor and respect them as any other human no matter in what situation they can be. Young and old I can become anyone's friend.
