I am a great caregiver because I listen to my clients wants and needs. I became a caregiver by stumbling upon something I really like to do. I didn't always know I wanted to be a caregiver til one day a job opportunity crossed my path and I've dedicated myself to helping others from then on. I truly love what I do and I love to interact and get to know my clients!

I am a caring and compassionate person. I have a daughter that has undergone two heart transplants the first at the age of six months. Because of my daughter i have post operative experience. She has had a total of four open heart surgeries. She is now 23 and doing great. Also I have taken care of my mother in-law for two years assisting with bathing, meals, medication management, breathing treatments and physical therapy. Currently I have been working with elderly that have various stages of Alzheimer's/dementia and other forms of memory loss. Also i have experience with the Hoyer lift, slide board and slip sheet for transferring and expereinced with feeding tube and kangaroo pump. I am current with my TB and drug tests. I have current certificates for CPR/first aid, Alzheimers/dementia care, personal and infectious disease care. I have reliable transportation and insurance if needed for errands and medical appointments. I am reliable and energetic. I love to cook, do arts and crafts, paint, play card games and spend time outdoors with the people I care for. Thank you for your consideration. References available upon request.

I became a caregiver because of my Step-Mother. From a very early age, I was tasked with taking care of her as she became bedridden from many diseases. She is afflicted with chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, herniated/ruptured disks, obesity (450lbs. or more), and a litany of other non-communicable diseases. As time went on I found myself enjoying taking care of her and it gave my life a sense of belonging and direction. As a CNA now, I find that serving others still gives me that same sense of direction I experienced in my youth, but I feel strongly now that I'm older that if everyone were like me, and spent their lives in service of others, there would be no person on Earth who felt lonely, neglected, or not cared for. I do have quite a bit of college education even though I hold no degree, but if I were to speak of an achievement that meant the most to me, it would be my Eagle Scout award. Becoming an Eagle Scout took many long hours as a child, and most of that time was spent volunteering and serving the community. The most important thing scouting taught me was that a person did not need a reason or a reward for helping others, but that the act of self-sacrifice held its own rewards. I love to meet new people, and I enjoy making others smile.
