Caring Companion

Hi, my name is Rachel i have 15 years of experience with Dementia and Parkinson's disease, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome. Who really enjoy working, just lost my client of five years on the 13th of November who I loved so much, because been a caregiver is something I wouldn't give up for anything, I'm a caring person very compassion about the work I do. I am passionate and enthusiastic about what I do. I love taking care of people. I became a care giver to be able to take care of people whose loved ones where far or stretched and needed an extra pair of hands. Meeting new people, getting to know them and being able to help them with their basic needs gives me satisfaction. One of my achievements was being able to care for a depressed client who after sometime started liking getting out of bed in the morning; I read to them and often took short walks with them. The small things make a difference in the lives of the people we care for.

I became a caregiver because I like to help other out and it make me feel good about myself that i could help other people out ,my biggest achievement is bei g there for others and that i help them out and we can build that patient client trust with one another i real enjoy my job and that am doing something to help others out.

I'm An LPN since 1996. I enjoy working with the elderly. Can handle myself in a situation. I know CPR. Enjoy being a companion, reading to them, getting meals prepared, bathing and giving them their medication. Will go the extra mile. Idon't smoke , I'm a church goer. I like keeping busy. I love helping people .

I always find it a pleasure helping others, being the eldest child of a family of 8 children I've always had a responsibility of caring for my siblings, which I learned as a young girl, then took it up as a job and have enjoyed it. Putting a smile on somebody's face is a good feeling. When my father was diagnosed with cancer I was ready to take care of him, which I did and that was a great accomplishment to see him feel better. Over the years I have worked with different families, one family I worked for had only offered me a job for 3 months because the doctors had told them their mother only had 3 months to live. I took the job and believed I will try and help the family take care of their mother in the finally days of her life, but little did I know that we were going to be together for 4 years. This job is about giving all your faith and hope for the best. I love what I do because I enjoy it.

I been taken of my grand father , and I enjoy doing that , so I decided to become a caregiver, what I like about them is when they share the story.

I am very compassionate and I care about people.I would like to help senior citizens spend their golden years with dignity. I have this overwhelming caring feeling towards sick people. I feel satisfaction helping someone do something they can not do on their own I treat patients like how they would be like to be treated if they were sick. I am very good at time management and I don't mind cleaning up poop, pee, vomit, and blood. I feels satisfaction after giving a patient a bath, shampoo, shave, and linen change. I am a good team player and I Know how to be empathetic with patients and their families. I do not consider it a job but a passion and I have the drive to make a patient’s life better. More so, I have a positive and upbeat personality and see the glass he glass as half full. I really have instant gratification with a job well done and the patient feels satisfied. With all of the above qualities that are embedded in my personality and system, I would like to share them by performing with people who need me.
