My name is Shantidra Bailey. I am a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant who has been doing nursing for 10 years now.I became a Caregiver because I took care of my grandfather who suffered from Cancer. Seeing him suffer motivated me to want to care for others and help them as much as I can. What I love about being a Caregiver is being able to help people with disabilities maintain their independence. I also love encouraging them, while making them feel as comfortable as possible and keeping a smile on their face. a personal achievement that I am proud of is being able to go back to school and further my career in Healthcare.

I believe I'm the best candidate for this job because I'm very loving and passionate at what I do. I treat all my patients as if there're my family. I'm a very great team player, I believe "team work makes the dream work"! I started working as a caregiver 4 years ago when my great aunt got sick. She wasn't getting the proper care that I knew she needed so I would assist with bed baths and activities of daily living. A year or so I received my certification. Now I'm currently working at a beautiful facility that teaches me more everyday. My biggest accomplishment was learning how to work on the dementia unit. It taught me more patients and more ways to care for others.

I became a caregiver because it gives me great joy to help people in need. I like the fact that I can make a persons day better by the short amount of time that I'm with them. An achievement that I am most proud of is juggling the jobs and maintaining my household while still being a new mom. I became a caregiver about 6 years ago when a close family friend was diagnosed with dementia and I've just loved helping people in need ever since. I am compassionate, caring, very patient and understanding, and I am open and willing to help with whatever is needed.
