I have worked as a care Provider for 15 years with the elderly.I enjoy the work because it is rewarding to me and also challenging,you get out of it what you put into it,you have to love the elderly first of all,you must be very patient and understanding,but most of all it takes alot of compassion.You are dealing with people,who have put into society,who have finally come to a point in their lives where they are in need of our help,to take care of them,and to let them know that they still do make a difference and are very important in society still. We can learn a great deal from these people and make a positive impact in their lives. ,they have alot to teach us with there wisdom and knowledge .And when you are dealing with the elderly,you are dealing with their illness also,and thats whats very important.

I am currently an LVN. I had recently aquirred my license. I have several years experience as a Caregiver. I am currently attending VVC to work towards the RN program. Until this process is completed, I would like to dedicate my service to helping individuals who needs that person to help out with daily activities of life. I want to continue my service to my community of helping others. My personal achievement that I am proud of is finishing and continuing my education in the medical field. My passion in this field has been a life long accomplishment. I have given companionship to those needing this. I have volunteered my time at the local Veterns facility to help those who couldn't get to activities on thier own. I have raised 5 children and assisted an ill individual with medication administration, help keep scheduled appointments, prepared meals and provided daily living assistance.

Honestly me becoming a caregiver just happened, but it came so natural to me. I remember as a child my mother would say treat people how u want to be treated and I really take that everywhere with me. I love to interact with people especially the elderly, I feel like history is sitting before me and if i just listen I can learn a whole lot like they say if u do not learn from history it will repeat itself. I proud of my self for being able to accept any challenge that comes my way and win lose or draw I'm goin to push forward. You know, I'm thankful for so much and I try not to take life for granted because we just don't know we may need someones love and care one day.

I am so happy to be able to make a difference in someone elses life and helping others who need help. I love what i do .I have been a caregiver for over 10 years .I have experience with hospice personal care ,homemaking and clients with dementia .
