I am 39 years old, active and healthy. I worked for army for 2 years and am honorably discharged. I have worked for Sears and JC penny as an associate for a few years till . In the last 7 years, I was a live-in nanny for a child from 2 months old till he turned 6 years. During that time, I realized how much I loved taking care of others. I still do babysitting for a 4 year old. I live with my parents since Jan 2005 onwards and help them with housekeeping, grocery shopping and cooking. I am a good driver and never had an accident. I realized I could help elders for their needs like transportation, Meal prep, Groceries and shopping, Housekeeping, Companionship, medical reminders etc.

I am completing my graduate degrees, in social work and theology. I am a veteran who has experience as medic as well as over 10 years of caregiving experience. Although I am meticulous about client safety and well-being, I try to make sure clients are comfortable and enjoying their time with me. My ultimate goal is to be part of a care team that helps keep individuals in the home for as long as possible.

I have always been passionate about making the lives of those I care for owing to my experience in clinical practice as a an LVN/LPN licensed Nurse and a volunteering work in healthcare in which I have managed the aged and elderly and built a wonderful relationship with them which has helped the outcome of daily living, much improved. Owing to this experience, its been my passion to continue on such opportunities to provide quality care for my clients to make their lives much better.

I love caring for others who are in need. I was in the Army and went to Iraq twice and it felt good to assist when someone was in need on the battle field. I served 9 years in the Army and decided to get out so I can become a Nurse, I just finished LVN school and hopefully next year I can start the RN program.

Working in Healthcare for over 7 years, I have developed a passion for helping people. My experience providing medical treatment to a wide variety of both acute and chronic conditions allows me to empathize with patients and understand their needs. As a recent graduate with a Bachelors in Health Science I have a working knowledge of our Healthcare system as well as the many lifestyle factors that affect our health. I have been in the United States Army for over 17 years and will be transitioning soon into full-time civilian lifestyle. I have availability to work odd shifts if need be. Caring for others is a passion of mine. With being the eldest child and caregiver for numerous elderly family members; it allowed be to gain the knowledge and experience in this area. I am disciplined, organized, great at blending/molding to different personality types and different situations. I became a caregiver for mentally/physically handicapped adults because I love helping others. I love knowing that what I do makes a difference in someone's life. I left my previous caregiver employment to deploy to Afghanistan where I earned the Combat Action Badge and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. I am currently pursuing a A.S. in Business Administration and hope to one day use that to open a midwife or doula business.

My name is Kathryn Walker and I was a teen mom which my father pushed me to have a career in order to take care of her. Instead of going to a regular high school, I decided to go to a Vo-Tech in order to obtain my CNA license. I also ran on the local ambulance in order to gain experience as well as received my EMT license. After moving to Florida and continuing my medical career I realized the health care system in Florida wasn't as good as it was up north therefore I decided to join the military. 9 months after joining I was deployed to Iraq in which I do suffer from PTSD. I've always wanted to help people, as my uncle was in a major motorcycle accident and spent 3 years in the hospital then was transferred to a rehab facility. I'm proud of the fact that I served my county and shared an experience with other soldiers that I still consider family. I can assure you that if you choose me as your family's caregiver you will not be disappointed.

Prior to being in the military I've worked with senior citizens at Internal Medicine office. I have also volunteered over 1000+ hours between hospice care and an elderly home prior to moving to Gainesville. I very much enjoy helping and as I've seen many of my patients have to deal with losing their mental capacity, I always wanted to see if or what I can do to assist. It's not fair when a person has to go through those moments alone and I absolutely can be of assistance.

A little about me i am a veteran, mom, grandma and sister. I always keep families and the facility up to date on changes or improvements. The attraction to the field has always been there from the time my child was little to when my grandfather needed assistance. I have always has a passion for nursing. I volunteered in nursing homes when I was to young to work. I went to vocational school to study for my C.N.A. I have recently gotten out of the Military after serving 6 years. I have been in Germany and Afghanistan, which is a personal accomplishment to come back with all my Soldiers I left with. I have received 4 Army Achievement Medals, 1 Army Commendation Medal, 1 Certificate of Achievement, A Drivers Badge, and 2 Army Good Conduct Medals. I love what I do and what I have done, and I love being a mother.
