Big Cabin Caregiver Jobs

Nothing much is needed except companionship. The trash bin needs to be taken to the curb Tuesday and brought back in the garage on Wednesday. Dad has frontal lobe dementia, so he is not capable of making new memories, and has a very limited past memory. He has no short term memory so will ask you the same questions over and over. Some days he is very talkative, making it mentally challenging for you. Other days he won’t talk much, just an occasional question. You can work on crafts like crocheting, read a book, do homework, play games on your phone, etc., just so long as you are in the room with him. He only sits in his chair and watches TV when he is out of bed. He has HBO and many cable channels, will usually let you watch what you want. He isn’t able to follow a story line, so funny shows are best. He does not need any assistance dressing, bathroom, or getting up and down. Sometimes he needs help with the tv remote or phone, gets them confused with each other. Mom died almost 5 years ago, and he will tell you many times how much he misses her and wants to be with her. He is on Hospice. A nurses checks on him weekly, and we are always told he is the healthiest dementia patient they have ever known. His sleeping schedule changes, was averaging 14-16 hours a day in bed, but now back closer to 12 hours awake and sleeping, can always change. Hours would be flexible between 8:00am and 1:00pm just 3-4 hours a day, 5-7 days a week, a total of 20-25 hours a week, can work with your schedule. We already pay a service for three afternoons a week, too expensive for much more. (We might cancel their service once we have a good caregiver or two at lower rates, so hours could be more.). Myself, brother and his wife also care for him in the afternoon into evening. The hours with him will probably change to include overnights as he gets worse, but that could be several months from now. We would like to pay around $15 an hour.
