We are seeking a compassionate, dependable caregiver to provide companionship, supervision, and caregiver relief for an elderly gentleman receiving hospice care in the Converse, Texas area. About Robert Robert is an elderly gentleman receiving hospice services for advanced heart and lung disease. He uses continuous oxygen and ambulates short distances with a walker. He enjoys conversation, spending time outdoors when able, and being in the comfort of his home. Primary Need The primary purpose of this position is to provide respite care for Robert’s wife, who is his full-time caregiver. We are specifically looking for someone who can stay with Robert while his wife leaves the home for appointments, errands, grocery shopping, or simply to take a much-needed break knowing he is safe and cared for. Caregiver Responsibilities * Provide companionship and conversation * Supervise for safety and fall prevention * Assist with walker safety and mobility as needed * Prepare light meals, snacks, and beverages * Encourage hydration * Assist with light household tasks related to patient care * Monitor comfort and report concerns to family * Be comfortable around oxygen equipment * Provide reassurance and a calm presence Schedule * Seeking 4–8 hour shifts * Initially 1–2 days per week * Flexible scheduling * Potential for additional hours if a good fit is found Ideal Candidate * Experience caring for seniors or hospice patients preferred * CNA, HHA, retired healthcare worker, or experienced caregiver welcome * Reliable, patient, trustworthy, and compassionate * Comfortable providing supervision while family is away from the home * References available upon request When responding, please include your experience, availability, hourly rate, and any hospice or senior care experience.
