With over 25 years in medical field I have worked in multiple settings from ER to in home care case management, pediatrics, geriatrics and wound clinics. I have had many rich experiences from working with patients of all ages and from all walks of life. My patients have given me a great appreciation for life, its many ups and downs. I have a big heart, and offer true compassion, deep understanding and nurturing patience for clients no matter what their condition or health challenge. I have been described as flexible, honest and trustworthy, easy going, reliable and dedicated. I am insightful, intuitive, creative with problem solving and joyful presence. I offer a calm and healing presence. Using my holistic nursing skills of stress management, healthy yet delicious meal prep (including knowledge of special diets ie, diabetic , cardiac, gluten, dairy, soy free) and prescribed therapeutic and functional medicine modalities, therapeutic massage. Even as a teenager, I had a special affinity for the elderly and still enjoy serving/helping them, talking with them, and learning about their life experiences. I have a B.S. in Nursing and M.A. in Humanistic Psychology. Both of these disciplines require excellent observation skills which I use continuously to assess the mental and physical status of the people I care for. I enjoy working in situations where family is caring and involved and in which communication with family is encouraged. I am an active, healthy 72-year-old widow, mother of an adult son and daughter, and enjoy clogging, crocheting, reading, beading, volunteering and playing classical piano. My experiences as a nurse and mother, and years working with developmentally disabled adults have prepared me for working with those who need care-giving services. But, most importantly, I have a protective heart for the elderly.
