I'm Margaret Holmes, a certified CNA with more than 5 years of experience in caring for patients with Alzheimer / Dementia, Hospice and Colostomy. I also have experience in caring for patients with breathing problem, Hoyer lifts / Gait belts, special meal preparation etc. Above all, I'm very friendly and easy going. After taking care of my mum who had dementia for nearly two years, I found out that I have a talent in caring for old people; so decide to help other old people who had problem like my mum. What i like most about being a Caregiver is that I can help prolong people's life by giving them appropriate and timely care they require. One of my personal achievements I would never forget is the care I gave to one of my patients He had dementia/Alzheimer and other critical illness. The doctors told him that he wont last more than one month before he die. But to the surprise of everyone, once I came into this man's life he almost got revived, started communicating and become happy instead being depressed. Instead of lasting only one month he lasted almost 6 months under my care. I couldn't feel more accomplished than seeing the smile I put on my patients face.

Out of 6 siblings, I was the only one taking care of my Mom with the assistance of my daughter who is now a medical doctor and now in the university pursuing her masters degree in public health here in the U.S. I feel so much comfortable taking of people either young or old. It is my joy to contribute positively to general care of elderly people. I personally relate very well with my client and their families, that most of them treat me like members of their families. I still have contact with most of the families I have worked for. They sometimes take me out for my birthdays celebrations , some calls on my birthdays, some sends messages on my birthdays. I think this a great achievement, because if I did not do good jobs for them, they will not remember me to give me such wonderful honors.
