About Gladys

I love caring and helping people, regardless of age and situation. I completed my CNA training in October 2014. I am also a Mental Health Technician I, and currently working on my degree in Social Work. I have worked with kids and adults with disabilities for over 10 years and have really enjoyed being a part of their lives. I have volunteered throughout the years to help friends and family in medical situations when care was needed. I am a parent of daughter who was born with Sickle Cell Disease who fought it for 27 years of her life. She passed away from a Sickle Cell crisis and related complications from and a brain tumor which was removed November 2013. Being that I couldn't afford home health care I choose to gain much knowledge from the Neuro Surgeon from Rush University as well as Endocrinologist and Physical Therapist to care for my daughter, being that the tumor was a Pitituary Tumor (Craniopharyngioma) which controls alot of the body's function she developed Diabetes and other related issues. I don't have much experience in a nursing home or hospital but I know what it takes to be loving, caring and passionate as well as helpful.

Hello, my name is Heather I have been doing homecare for 16 years working both privately and through agencies. I became a caregiver for those that need help staying as independent and comfortable as possible in there own home without having to go into a nursing home or other facility. During my years of being a caregiver you never know what your day to day task will be. You take one day at a time and go with it. I love helping people especially when you get a response without you I don't know where I would be. Not everyone who represents themselves as caregivers are actually a caregiver there are in it for the money which is awful to say but is very true. It takes a compassionate person to be a caregiver, you are leaving the life of your loved ones in there hands. During my 16 years of caregiving, I went back to school and became a certified nursing assistant in which Ive been for 14 years. I'm certified in both Illinois and Indiana. I have a clean background up to date cpr card. I not only have experience with home care, but also have nursing home, rehab, assisted living, hospice and hospital experience.
