Caregiving is a special job to me because it connects you to people on a level that no one but the two of you will understand. I have worked with many families through a home health company I used to work for and many of my clients became a second family. I present a professional and intelligent manner in regards to healthcare, but I also know the importance of remembering that who you are taking care of is a human being who gets angry and frustrated and embarrassed. I am patient and kind and this field is my passion. The connections that I have made with previous clients is what I'm most proud of in my three year career in senior care. I have just been accepted to Galen College of Nursing where I hope to gain an associates degree with credentials in neonatal care. I'd like to go back to get my masters to work as a neonatal nurse practitioner.

I've always loved helping elderly people. Part of what makes me a great caregiver is that people I care for tell me I understand them even when no one else seems to. I ask lots of questions to determine what they want and need. Therefore, they have the maximum autonomy, independence and happiness possible, which is definitely what I would want for myself. I also have the gift of extreme patience when working with elderly people with dementia. They never drive me crazy, most likely because of lots of exposure early in life to that sort of thing. Of course, I'm completely trustworthy. But I also have unusually high integrity, excellent values and am unusually responsible and capable. I have extensive college training in medical information and know what to do. I've been trained by some of the best private caregivers in Louisville and have a network of other excellent caregivers. I have a very wide range of experience in this area up to and including working closely with hospice staff. I'm a multi-talented individual who's an unusually accomplished American. Therefore, I have all kinds of personal achievements I'm proud of. I simply enjoy this type of service and autonomy more than most types of professional work I've done.
