About Laura

I believe that a caregiver's job is to provide kind, compassionate and intuitive care to those who need it, ensuring that each client feels as comfortable as possible in an environment that most closely resembles home. Individuals under my care should not have to ask for generic everyday needs. Instead, I try to anticipate their needs so that they maintain a comfort level similar to that they experienced as an independent. Completing the activities of daily living (ADLs) should not be considered a job for the client. It is important to make sure each individual feels they are living within their "means." Meticulously record any manifest/verbal indications of bodily and/or psychological changes [that may indicate latent illness]. Precisely, accurately, expediently report observations to supervising nurse or practitioner. Enthusiastically encourage physical activity as permitted/outlined within physical therapy and/or occupational therapy guidelines. Distribute medications as prescribed. Concentrations: Parkinson’s (including PD with dementia) and Alzheimer’s. General experience: ALS, cancer, diabetes, quadriplegia, stroke, vascular & heart disease, patients recovering from hip replacement and back surgery.

I am an energetic and caring CNA/GNA with over twenty eight years of experiences. I have worked in nursing homes, hospital and private duties.. In my early years my grand father was sick and needed help, and I was there asisting in caring for him. So in my teens years I taught about my parents how would I care for them if they got sick. What would I do. That's when I decided to become a nursing assistant. It's a job that I really love do. Even though it's challenging at times the experiences endless. I love and support the the elderly clients especially when I care for them and put a smile on their faces. I felt really proud at the end of the day they will say thank you.

We all have a need to feel valued and loved regardless of our position in life or our age. I seek to serve and assist, to laugh with and encourage these valuable ones who have lived so much life and who have contributed in both seen and unseen ways to our families and communities. I see caregiving as a way to give back....bringing heartfelt joy to people and helping....I can think of no greater job. I would love to talk with you and discuss how I can be of help for you and your loved one. Also would be happy to provide references . I live near Bel Air, and would love to connect and assist in the Bel Air/Fallston/Abingdon area.
