Hello! My name Is Judea but I go by Judy. I have been a CNA for a year now & this is by far the best job I have ever had. I've always saw myself doing something healthcare related, & this fits me the most. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the relationships that I form with the residents. At my nursing home, all of my residents love me & even some of the patients with dementia & Alzheimer's remember my name most of the time. I know it's my voice & my touch that they remember, & probably my scent also. A personal achievement that I am proud of is serving the military for 8 plus years. I am still in the reserves, & I am grateful for everything the military has taught me.

I can do light house keeping, Check and record vital signs; measure height and weight; measure intake and output; collect specimens; test urine; observe patient response to care; report and record observations of patient's conditions.Check and pass food trays; feed patients; provide fresh drinking water and nourishments; assist with bed pans, urinals and commodes; empty urine collection bags; assist with colostomy care; give enemas; observe faces and urine; monitor intake and output. Turn and position patients; provide range of motion exercises; transfer patients to wheelchair/stretcher; assist with ambulation. Bathe patients; provide nail and hair care; assist with oral hygiene; provide denture care; shave patients; assist with dressing and undressing.Admit, transfer and discharge patients; transport patients; take specimen to lab; assist with special procedures; telephone answering; document and assist in unit record-keeping. Make beds; clean and care for equipment; carry out isolation precautions; practice medical asepsis and infection control; practice standard precautions; observe oxygen precautions. Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality; keep call signals within patient's reach; answer call signal promptly; provide orientation to the room or unit and to other visitors and patients; assist patients with communication; protect personal possessions; provide diversional activities; give backrubs; prepare hot and cold applications.
