Making a difference in people's lives has been a passion of mine. My family owned a Nursing Home/Home for the Aged for 36 years. This is were my passion for taken care of people was instilled in me. I worked as a caregiver, cook and handled recreation programs for our residents. Throughout the years I worked for Connecticut Hospice, The Alzheimer's Resource Center, and as a Private Caregiver for children and adults. I had the honor of caring for my Dad and both my Grandmother who all had Alzheimer's. There are many types of Dementia. Training and knowledge is important to understanding the needs of your love ones and clients you care for. This past December I completed training courses for The National Caregiver Certification Program, Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's. These certification courses provided me with new ways to communicate with Dementia clients. I make sure the things that are most important to my client are done every shift. This is achieved by asking your priorities, then once they're completed if time allows I do my best to tackle the non-priorities. Compassionate, reliable, punctual, treating everyone with dignity and respect are values I live by.

With four years of dedicated experience as a caregiver, I have honed my passion for providing exceptional care and service to individuals and families in need. What makes me a great caregiver is my inability to give up. I will push until my patient receives the proper treatment and is fully satisfied. I love working as a caregiver making sure my client has comfort when no one else is around and they always have a smile until their no longer requesting my service. I got into this field with my own experience dealing with my grandmother who died from Alzheimer's it was really hard not being able to speak up for her and make her feel more comfortable so I vowed to speak up for those in need and make sure to never fail them.

Hello My name is Vantaysha ! I've been a caregiver for over 5 years now . I jumped into this field due to the lost of my grandfather who was also my bestfriend. He passed away in a nursing home and I wanted to make a change in this field . Doing that would be bringing my upbeat energy . As the caregiver of your loved one I am responsible for the direct care of patients, clients, or residents of the facility or agency or person that and whom I work for. I assist with daily activities, such as dressing, bathing, and eating. I also have a role in keeping them safe and comfortable. I became a nurses aide because I once was a full time Single mother to my special needs daughter (cerebral palsy and quadriplegic). I am a natural nurturer .
