Hello! First and foremost I want to thank you for concerning me to take care of your loved one. I take pride in being a caregiver! A good caregiver is patient, flexible, and has empathy and compassion. Those are exact reasons why I knew I wanted to take care of people! At a very young age I realize that I always wanted to help people. From taking care of younger siblings to my grandpa when he got sick. I wanted to make sure that quality of life was being lived to the fullest. I enjoyed seeing others happy because I was able to help. I knew my passion of caregiving really took a toll on me when I started my first CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) job. The experience I received really grew my passion for being a caregiver!

I like taking care of senior citizens. I enjoyed going into their homes and getting them ready for the day fixing them breakfast lunch or supper cleaning their houses and listen to the stories. I have been a certified CNA for 20 years I have worked in hospitals nursing homes also home care. I I also like taking them out shopping if they are able to go. Or just get them out of the house for the day. What they're not able to go for a ride we can just sit on the front porch and talk the purpose is to get him out of the house for a little bit. If they like to bake I like to help or if the guys like to tinker in the house or in the garage I can help do that too. Also if they have pets I can take care of their pets like walk them feed them or whatever they need. I has bee n a home health for 2 years.

During my childhood years, caring for my elderly grandparents was a part of my everyday life. They had several health issues and were in and out of hospitals frequently. I was exposed to caregivers in many different settings. The impact that kind, compassionate and informative care-giving made all the difference to me and my family. At the age of 12, I knew nursing was what I wanted to do with my life. As I pursued nursing, I started out caring for patients in a nursing home as a nursing assistant. I loved this, as I got to care for clients, just like my grandparents. The opportunity to establish connections with clients week-to-week was special! After nursing school, I moved to caring for patients in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. The hospital experiences have given me a broad scope of skills, whether it is assisting patients with basic self-care needs, changing dressings, managing ventilators or providing education, being able to establish a rapport with patients and their family's is still one of the favorite parts of my job. I love being able to help people understand what is going on with their health and their treatment plan. Just as others demonstrated to my own family, I want each of my clients and their family members to feel safe, cared for and heard.

I would first like to explain that I have been a professional registered nurse since 1988. I have been retired for the last 5 years and have been at home. I am a very good and enthusiastic caregiver. I am smart, nurturing and fun to be around. I have always worked in high risk environments from trauma/ emergency departments to intensive care units and medical step-down units. I am at the point in my life where I want to give back. I am settled and wish to be a companion / caregiver for elderly individuals in their homes. I do not have a vehicle, therefore, would not be able to transport any individuals for any errands. I usually find an Uber to get where I am going. My hourly rate is negotiable depending on the distance I must travel to get to my job. My greatest personal achievements would have to be raising my two adult daughters. Both live out of state now and have educations and careers. I have a lot of time on my hands and I just want to make a difference in someone's life. Drug and alcohol free.
Skills & Certifications: Vision and Eye Disorders, Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Stroke, Skin Disorders, Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Parkinson's Disease, Orthopedic Care, Neurological Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, Hearing Disorders, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Diabetes, Dementia, Depression, COPD, Cardiovascular Disorders, Cancer Recovery, ALS, Arthritis, Blood Disorders, Alzheimer's Disease

I feel I'm a great caregiver because I care about all people and what u can do to make their lives more pleasant and easier. I became a caregiver because I took care of my mother for four years before she passed away and I feel I made a difference in her last days for the better and she was able to be in her own home for the remainder of her life which was very important to her and to our family.I really enjoy helping out and making a difference in peoples lives. I worked in a factory for 35 years and I never enjoyed it as much as I enjoy being a HOME HEALTH AIDE

Over the Past 10 years I have had the incredible opportunity to care for families and their loved ones. Starting my career in Alzheimer/ memory care and Hospice, as well working with aging population with disabilities , cognitive impairments & chronic illness such as CHF. I've always known from day one that caring for people and their families was and always will be my passion and calling in life. I have been fortunate enough to expand my education from nursing to EMS, as well as becoming a certified AHA BLS CPR instructor . I have extensive experience with medication management, Vital's and chronic illness management- as well as feeding, lifts, bathing and all daily life care! I am looking to continue to share my passion, experience and dynamic skills in healthcare with a family and loved one in need!
