I'm interested in being a caregiver because I'd like to increase the amount of care the elderly population receives. I enjoy talking to elderly person im taking care of and would like to know them. A personal achievement of mine is my high school graduation.

My patience, my listening skills, and my care for the residents, I think makes me a great caregiver! I worked in a kitchen for 12 years at a nursing home and knew I could proved more for the residents then just serving meals and making them coffee, also I took care of my mother the last 6 months of her life and that alone made a huge change in my career path! I enjoy the conversations the residents have with me. I love hearing their life stories about their kids and grandkids! I enjoy waking up knowing that I'm going to make their day or they are going to make mine. I'm a proud mother of two young children!

After being in the veterinary field for 20 years, I've gained a level of comfortability with all things clinical and medical. I adore the elderly and have experience with Alzheimer patients and those with dementia. I love working with the elderly. I believe in a holistic approach to caregiving. I am hospice trained and have over 10 years experience working in the field. In addition I am an interfaith chaplain. I have worked as an activities assistant in a facility that was for folks with dementia. I believe working with the elderly is my calling.
