I love working with elderly and help them and make sure they get to there doctor appointments grocery shopping and remind them to take there medications and help them prep food for them and help them with some chores around the house and make sure they have clean clothes and i enjoy helping elderly people out i helped my grandmother for 15 years of my life

Hello I am Tanisha Knight, Before I started working in this field of health care. I took great passion and love to care for my mother who was terminally ill 23 years ago. I know this sounds lame, but I always knew I wanted to be a nurse. I love the rewarding feeling I get from giving. Now, when I was a kid that was another story. I carried all of my toys in a brown grocery bag and you would have to fight me to get me to share! I love listening and learning from others. I feel that this has only improved my caregiving skills. I have worked with all ages, races, religions, disabilities and I treat each person the same. We all deserve dignity and respect regardless of our situation. I'm kind, but love to laugh and have a good time. Most importantly I know how to act appropriate for the situation. I believe an achievement that I can truly be proud of everyday is that I have the ability to take life as it comes and always put things into perspective. I hold my family close to my heart. My name is maggie i am 42 yrs of age, a single mother of a 23 yrs old son who is now in college. I am a certified nurse assistant for over 13 yrs now and still do enjoy working with and caring for seniors/elderly people. I became a caregiver because i love people and will always enjoy being around people. What i do like about being a caregiver is that i make a big difference by helping a person when they need me the most and i am there to give them that caring hand. My personal achievement i am most proud of is that i do understand now what it means when a person just can"t do things they use to do on their own anymore and they have to depend on others for their adl and that makes me more aware that it could be me someday so, i truly give care s to people that i serve with so much attention,love and compassion.
