Honestly, I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. But I'd love to tell you a story, which really helped me make this decision. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was left alone. Plus, her arthritis was starting to worsen, and she began having more and more trouble preparing her meals, bathing, and getting her groceries. So we found her a caregiver and she was absolutely amazing! She stayed with my grandma for longer hours than expected, while telling stories about growing up in Europe. That was very soothing for my grandma, and that caregiver inspired me to join this field. I really try to get to know my patients. I ask a lot of questions. I ask about their feelings and if they're dealing with weighty emotions, like sadness, anger, or anxiety. I listen as much as possible and tell them they can talk to me about anything without worry. I try building trust, and it's a gradual process, but I do my best to get there.

I'm a great caregiver and has been for 16yrs. I enjoy taking care of people. I love being a great helper and caretaker. I have worked long term care and home healthcare and hospital setting.

Hello , my name is Kalisha and I have been in the healthcare field for over 10 years. I love interacting with my patients and taking care of their everyday needs. I have always wanted to work in the healthcare field ever since I was a child. I am very dedicated to my work and I have a big heart and just love doing what I do! I have taken care of patients and have connected a bond with them and the patients don't just look at me as a caregiver, more like family. I also have a great history with some clients where I have taken care of local nurses in the community mother/father. Also I have taken care of a local lawyers wife during her dementia stage.

I'm the type of person that has great interpersonal skills, an empathetic person, very caring, and dependable. I became a Certified Nurse Assistant when my uncle was in a nursing home and I saw how he was being cared for. It made me want to become a CNA so that I could care for my loved ones properly at home if needed and those in nursing home setting ls as well. This is something that has to be in your heart and it's in mine. I enjoy most about my career as a CNA is being able to help others and I love the fact that I am able to make my residents smile daily. It let me know I am doing something right. My main personal achievement is becoming a Federal Certified Nurse Assistant
