Caregiving is I think an honor to help individuals get a better quality of life being at home in their own homes. What I like about being a caregiver is being able to show a client how being at home can be fun, enjoyable and mostly safe for them. I am most proud of myself for a few reasons. Losing an excessive amount of weight. After a loss of a child I gained a large amount of weight and when I had my son, I was larger than life. But as years went by I needed to start taking care of myself. Have lost over 583 lbs in 33 years. Also achieving getting back up on my own raised my son and became a Licensed Nurse's Assistant with home care and nursing homes. Did many kinds of employment but always came back to nursing. After being in the veterinary field for 20 years, I've gained a level of comfortability with all things clinical and medical. I adore the elderly and have experience with Alzheimer patients and those with dementia. I think I would make a great addition to your family's health care plan and can really make a difference in your loved ones daily life. When I look back on my 15 years of working as a Licensed nurses assistant I like to think about the people that made me who I am, with each senior I helped or assisted I learned something new, I learned about my self as well, I have a lot of compassion for seniors because of my own grandparents who I loved more then life it self.I treat people they way I wanted my own family to be treated. I enjoy home care because you get to know people, seniors love to talk about their life stories and I enjoy listing to them.It was one of the main reasons for me going into home care because I love to hear about the old days of long ago, and I love being around the elderly because they have a lot more to say that what people think, I like being around people who are nice funny and just good people.

I first started caregiving when I was 17. My first job was for glorias helping hands. At first i wasnt sure about how i felt about the type of work. I didnt have much experience as to what i was doing. I took some classes and got my rcs1 and crma first. Rcs1 is a residential care specialist and a CRMA is a certified residential medical assistant. As i learned more and worked more I realized that is was my passion to help others who may need some assistance in things they can no longer do. Honestly u really do have to have a passion for this type of work because u never know what could happen or what situation u may end up in. And some of the disabilities, and some health issues can be challenging. Ive been very lucky to continue and have worked and learned various disabilities, as well as illnesses. Today i have my rcs1, pss,cna, and also insulin certified, cpr certified, and first aid certified. I love knowing that I'm making a difference and im helping and am there for someone who needs some support and help in their life.

I am a mom of 2 amazing boys. My youngest is special needs and he has taught me so much about life. My husband and I are truly blessed. I have never officially cared for someone other than family members but I really enjoy doing it. I love to care for people in general. I love to brighten their day. I love to see them smile. I love to watch them grow. And I love the lessons they teach me. I am a person who just can't sit still. I am a go getter and great at multitasking, that is why I prefer to have 2-3 jobs.
