I am a caring person who loves to talk. I worked as CNA for a year and a half , I did home health for 6 months and right now I am currently working as a Med-Surg tech for 1 year and 3 months now at OU Edmond Health. I am working in this field because I love helping people get better, it brings me joy to see my patients smile after getting through a hard situation. I am mostly proud of myself because no matter how hard a task is that is put in front of me I get the job done.

Well, back in 2007, my grandfather was in a hospice care facility, when things became too difficult for him to move, do activities and even speak, it was hard to comprehend the situation our family was going through, but before his last days, him, he would mentiom the staff who were helping him get through the painful process of his final days, they were helpful, kind, and spend quality time with him, making his journey a little bit easier, we would hear stories from caregivers who would tell us things my grandfather would speak of and gave us clarity that he was in good care, we thanked them, they became a big part of our family for many years, it is why I wanted to be a caregiver, to help families who cant be there for there loved ones because of there jobs or any reason for that matter, I made friends from families I helped get through tough situations, it doesnt get any easier to be honest, but it only makes this job only more fulfilling knowing that there are people who not only the care we provide, but to spend quality time that I wish I wouldve gotten the time with my grandfather

Hi I'm Andrea I want to tell you a little about me. I'm 37 and Married with a stepdaughter who I call my own. We have a cat named Jaspurr. We are located in Norman, Oklahoma. I believe my personality traits that would make me a great caregiver are openness to feelings, straightforwardness(being "frank, sincere, and ingnous") Warmth (being affectionate and friendly) Postive emotions, Competence, Outgoing, Willing to communicate with all parties involved with the person I'm caring for. Patience and understanding. I'm very outgoing and love to talk and learn new things. What attracted me to being a caregiver is from August of 2003 to May of 2004 I took a CNA Class and worked a few short months at the Arbor House in Mustang before getting married for the first time. I moved out of state and did not continue to follow a dream I had of becoming an RN so I have decided to do caregiving and work my way to an RN. I wanted to help those in need and felt that was what attracted me to doing caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is helping those that need it most and for families to be able to not stress or worry about loved ones knowing they have someone like me that can keep their loved ones taken care of and keep them company and just someone to sit with them and listen to stories and many other things. A personal achievement for me is owning my very first brand new car 2021 Kia Rio. I feel another achievement for me is all the training I have taken the time to do on MyCNA Jobs and plan to do more. I have lots of certificates if you have any questions regarding any training please feel free as I was not able to add them to my profile. I'm working on trying to take another CNA class. I however am trained as a caregiver and have many other certifications that I could not add.I have several different certifications.
