I am a mother of four children so I know what it takes for patients and being compassionate, helpful, friendly person. I like being a caregiver because the expressions on the client's face at the end of the day makes me feel good of what I do for them. I enjoy getting to know the client and their family and what they like and what they don't like. I'm proud of the knowledge I have gained working for other job related companies as well as nursing homes and getting the opportunity to further my knowledge.

I currently am an Occupational Therapist Assistant looking for an extra income. I love helping and assisting people. I am a graduate of Penn State Dubois with an Associate degree. I am qualified with transfers, care, and cpr/first aid certified.

I love it when they talk about growing up, meeting their spouses,maybe went off to war and of course their grandchildren and great grandchildren. I enjoy making a difference in their lives. Hello! My name is Heather Dunmire, I have been in the medical field for 8 years now. My first job out of high school was a nurses aide position. I went on to further my education and obtain my CNA license in January 2017. I have a strong passion for wanting to help others and wanting to see them succeed. I have worked in a childcare facility as a shift supervisor before but I always find my way back to my elderly folk, that is where I feel my heart is at and where I feel I do my best work. I love hearing their stories from all throughout their lives, and I absolutely love to see the smiles on their faces. I like to really take the time to find out what their dislikes and likes are, get to know their routine of things, and try to connect with them in a way to make them feel safe and secure. I am cpr, first aid, aed, and Heimlich trained. I am also diabetic trained and medication trained, and insulin trained and I have a customer service certification. I think I'm a great caregiver because I know what I'm doing. I get to know that person as an individual and get to know what they like and don't like. It helps with taking care of that individual. I love taking care of people and making them feel like they have someone there for them.

I think patience and compassion are essential traits needed for working this type of job. This is a job that might have some challenging situations along the way, and a good attitude goes a long way. Ive always had a giving personality and I like helping people. My grandmother had raised my brother and I since we were toddlers. As Ive gotten older and she has as well, Ive been giving back and helping her along the way. I would say that really kickstarted my compassion and empathy for the elderly. In my opinion, this is one of the most rewarding jobs one can have. Just knowing you are helping someone who cant help themselves, and seeing how grateful they are for it, makes it all worth it.
