I have worked as a caregiver in homes, nursing homes and hospice care for over 20+ years. I love helping people and treating people as I would want someone to treat my own loved ones. I understand that getting old is also a form of losing your Independence. I like to let the patients do as much as they can and help them where I am needed.

About Me, I have been a caregiver for over 15 years, first in a nursing home in my home town of Hillsboro, TX.. I worked as a CNA and also the Business Office for 10 years in the same facility. Then I tried Hospice care for about a year. Then I was a private sitter for a year and a half to an eldery woman. I have a passion for taking care of others who need it! And will take care of my patients to the best of my ability.

I have 3 years of caregiving experience. Knowing that I am helping make someone's life even the slightest bit easier has always felt so rewarding to me. I believe I am a very patient and understanding person as well as performing great under pressure and I feel that is what makes me a great fit to be a caregiver.

1. what helps me be a great caregiver is that i listen to my patients, I help them when they need help and comfort them. I'm a great listener and I love to talk. 2. what attracted me into becoming a caregiver is that i love helping people in need. i used t take care of my mom when she became ill with lupus. i used to bathe her, get her dressed, put her into bed. helping her made me realize i love helping others who need help. 3. what i enjoy most about being a caregiver i that i get to hear my patients stories. its very interesting to see all that they went through. i love seeing my patients smile and if i made them smile with the gratitude i give them then that makes me happy. 4. my personal achievement i am proud of is how well i took care of my mom that led me to where i'm at today.

Hello, My name is Lauralee and I have been a Private Caretaker for 20 + years you name I've done it met some wonderful families who also became my family too I usually stay with families for between 3-5 yrs I like to stick to what I know and I understand it's also hard for the elderly to get in a different routine constantly can be scary so my goal is make someone's day .I enjoy my jobs and people I'm very social and friendly and also love long conversations and hearing stories from the past.. I prep , light house keep , showers , transfers, bed baths , etc.

Care giving has been a part of me for a very long time, from bringing crackers and 7up to my brother when he was sick, caring for my grandparents while in the nursing home. I was raised around some amazing women who have shown me that no matter what in any situation I will always be there for someone in need. Have seen the good and bad in working and visiting facilities. When someone is working just for a paycheck that person is most certainly in the wrong career for healthcare. Yes a paycheck is good there is too much compassion in me to be that way, I get way to attached to my people cannot help that. Our elders deserve to be treated with the upmost respect. I have sat with a client at an assisted living facility for 13 hours, working a double 2pm to 6 am the next morning, 13 of the 16 was talking, singing just being there for that resident made care giving that much more special. What I enjoy the most bringing smiles to each and every person I meet, young or old. If I only see one smile than I know have done a good days work. The most personal achievement I am proud of are my children, without then life would not exist they are my heartbeat and if anything were to happen to either of my children I would lose my absolute mind.

I love taking care of the elderly, I look at each and everyone of them as if they were my grandparents. What made me want to become a CNA was watching my grandmother suffer and succumb to cancer and there wasn't anything I could do to help her feel better. I love being a CNA because of the relationships and connections I develop with each person I care for. I learn so much by just having conversations with my elders.
