I have been a caregiver since I was 15 years old and still in high school. Today having over 20 years of experience, I am still filled with the lively energy that is needed for this kind dedicated work. I've always cherished the honor to love others and have taken pride in the journey to make a difference in someone's life. I am able to build the companionship that's needed with enthusiasm. This has proven to comfort the fears that surface with life's challenges as people need care in life. I have mastered empathizing with encouragement to calm the storms of life and handle any crisis with kindness and patience. A variety of issues can surface on any given day so problem solving in a positive and timely way with flexibility has given me a strong record of client satisfaction. It comforts families that I offer so much experience and expertise having worked for many years in nursing homes, hospitals, private duty homes, hospice home health, knowledgeable with dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, physical therapy, dialysis. I must be attentive to the client and family with impecable communication skills in order to serve and maintain the ability to monitor the health and personal care of the clients daily lives. Most importantly be dedicated, supportive, dependable, trustworthy, and compassionate in order to have peace for the family that the client will have a better quality of life. I posses the knowledge to do this and thrive to be improving everyday life in many ways. The rewards are huge and I was born to serve others. I ground myself in medical knowledge and crave learning and improving all ways I can professionally. Most importantly I have built many cherished relationships along my journey with caregiving, ones which will last a lifetime. To me that is beyond an amazing opportunity and I anxiously await the next opportunity to be caregiving.

I knew at a very young age ( 12 ) that I wanted to take care of the elderly. I use to go to work with my mom, who was a LVN, and help her with her patients. I loved every minute of it! At the age of 19, I received my license and began to care for the elderly on my own. By word of mouth, my name became very well known around the community where I lived at that time and I was as busy as one could be. I love assuring my clients are safe, clean, happy and comfortable. I love to cook and clean as well. I'm very comfortable around pets and I do not smoke. It's very common for me to stay extended hours if I feel like my clients need me for any reason whatsoever. My clients know from the first day that they can contact me anytime day or night and I will assist with them and their needs. I love working hospice as well, and have done hospice work for over 25 years. It's a very rewarding feeling knowing my clients left this earth clean, comfortable and loved. My life revolves around my clients . I love learning from them and with them, laughing with them and loving them. The last 27 years has been a dream come true ! I hope that it continues for another 27! Thank you! Terri Burlison

What made me want to help others with whatever condition they are in, all started when my own grandpa, had a stroke and we didn't want to take him to a nursing home, I was still in high school but I loved helping my mom coming home after school, checking his sugar, helping him bathe and eating after he passed away it made me want to help others. Honestly this is a life lesson as well, you meet families and learn from them and become part of their family, i love what I do When I turned 18 I started working at a nursing home for basic training and went to the school they provided so I have expience with all sorts of wonderful people who need help. Feel free to ask me questions

As a dedicated caregiver to elderly residents of assisted living and memory care communities, I am an excellent match to the caregiver opportunities Since 2014 I have worked as a caregiver for different senior care Company, where I assist residents with dementia and Alzheimer's disease with daily living needs. I work under the guidance of a PA and RN to help implement and support resident-care plans, which include providing services to aid in memory care, physical care and psycho-emotional care optimizing residents' quality of life. Deeply committed to treating my elderly clients with dignity and respect, my goal is to win their trust and alleviate any embarrassment or anxiety they may feel when needing assistance with bathing, toileting, grooming or other personal care. I also excel at planning creative activities customized to resident needs and physical/mental abilities. Examples include pet visits from a nearby animal shelter, game nights, outdoor concerts, card tournaments, art and yoga classes, spa days and makeover sessions. It can be challenging at times, but I truly enjoy working with elderly residents. Though I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents, the ongoing lessons I have learned from them have in return made a lasting impact in my life.
