I have been a caregiver for almost 25 years. I was a member of a religious congregation for 23 years. Our main mission is to care for the Elderly in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities own by the Congregation. Caring for the Elderly and the sick becomes second nature to me because in my culture (Samoan) it is a blessing to be able to care for our own elderly parents. I love doing the same to others. Last year, my dad was very sick and couldn't walk. I decided to leave the Congregation to care for him who is now able to carry out ADLs by himself, praise God!!
