1. I became a caregiver because I want to give back to the elderly that once loved and took care of me when I was younger. 2. I like the mere fact that when I assist the elderly, I'm able to make a difference in their life. For instance, I love to see them smile and that they can feel safe with me. In addition, I love to sit down and hear the stories the elderly has to say. 3. From a young age I began visiting neighbors that were lonely, a spouse had passed and needed some tender loving care. As an adult I began my career. I love to sit and listen to family stories as well as housekeeping, meal prep, engaging in activities, bathing assistance. All of the things that assist with maintaining personal care and dignity. I have been in the healthcare field for 30 plus years and I love it! I have worked with a variety of individuals from young to old with Downs, ALS, Dementia, Special needs. I have also worked for the KSD and in family homes and facilities. I have CPR/First aid/fundamentals in caregiving/food handlers/various certs in continuing education.
