I start doing caregiver job when my grandfather passes away in 1999. I grew up with him and my grandma, but my grandma passes away I was still little, and they were part of my life, I am helping my mom taking care of him and the connection and the love I have for him is very deep, I decided that I will continue to help other and love them as my own. I am a very happy person, I am working hard, very easy to work with and loving person. I love to make my client happy and be comfortable in whatever situation they'll in. I work in the nursing home on memory care side for a while and gain a lot of experience on that side. I grew up knowing that I wanted to be like my idol, my grandmother, who was a RN. I knew when I was a candy striper in my teens that iI wanted to continue to take care of those who couldn't because of the feeling of helping a patient get better or die with dignity and not alone filled my soul with gratitude that I was given the opportunity to make a difference in their live by God. When i was 20 I was married and my husband did not want me to do that kind of,work so I was in Retail Management for over 25 years. When I was no longer married I went to school and received my CNA License and I was able to fill my heart and soul again with that peace that I receive from helping others and when they sincerely thank me I am still overwhelmed with happiness. Dignity is a huge part of a person's happiness and to help with that juat completes me. I do hope to go further with my education in the medical field and become a RN. I have an Associate's Degree in Business Management. Other than that I love animals, the ocean/beach, riding horses and a good book. My name is Amanda Griffith and I'm a single mother that has fallen in love with the healthcare industry. I started out assisting resident at a facility for mental and physical disabilities and knew from there this is where I was meant to be. I took care of my grandfather, while he was on hospice, overnight and worked during the day. I love the interaction I get and love seeing my residents faces light up when i walk in. I come from a family of deaf so I am also fluent in ASL and love to sign.
