Hi there, I'm Latoya Bobo from Malvern Ar, with a year of experience as a caregiver. I'm a patient, loyal, independent, reliable worker who is compassionate about my job. I was attracted to this job because I battle sickle cell and lupus, which can be challenging and hard. Therefore I know a thing or two about having the time and patients. I enjoy being able to care for and lift a caretaker's spirits. Letting them know that I'm am there to help them out with a hand or two, but they're still individuals who care for themselves with just a little assistinst.

I am a hard worker day in and day out. Always punctual while also showing complete respect and compassion no matter the circumstance. I can handle the worst situations, all the way up to making sure someone has the best outlook of whatever situation is thrown at them. I work any shifts, and can be very flexible with my schedule. Hmm...about me? When I took the class to become certified, I had no idea the impact it would have on my life, much less, how it would impact the person I am today. I think being personable and empathetic are important qualities that have been enhanced throughout the last nine years. I never put much though into becoming a caregiver, it just kind of came about, but now I feel like its a way for me to step away from "self." Whatever may be going on in life gets left at the door or at the time clock, then I step into another "self." Its hard to describe the way this type of work makes me feel which, in turn, has a positive affect on my job performance and I like to think people can see this shine through in my personality. I can honestly say that I'm happy to have gained the friendships, knowledge and experience I wouldn't have otherwise had a chance to gain. My most recent personal achievement is being enrolled to start on online classes to take the next step in the healthcare feild.

I became a caregiver in 2017. A gentleman was given my name by a mutual friend. He was told I was compassionate, honest and would be perfect to fill the position he needed for taking care of his wife. I went to meet her, and fell in love with caring for her. She was blind, bedbound and suffered the end stages of dementia. She was non-verbal, and had not communicated in several years. It didn't take long, but she began talking to me! I quickly learned to use a hoyer, and to do daily range of motion exercises, along with physical therapy. After my first job, I was determined to help more people. I had gotten so much out of the progress I seen my patients were making. I have so much patence, and love to help others as if they were my own family. Since I started I've had the opportunity to use a ceiling hoyer, care for a Foley catheter. As well.as using other catheters including condom catheters.
