I'm a very compassionate person, and I've enriched the lives of many, while in the comfort of their own surroundings. I've worked in the medical field as a respiratory technician for 15 years, and I've been a certified caregiver for 20 years and found that in home health care is where my passion lies. The majority of my clients are elderly, and to remove them from their surroundings can often cause them too much trauma. Being in their homes with them, and assisting them in day-to-day activities, is always more comfortable and provides a much happier environment. I know at the end of each day I have shown them compassion and made their lives more comfortable and peaceful. I am certified in CPR and FIRST AID, and I am a CERTIFIED CAREGIVER. I also have an extensive medical background as a RESPIRATORY TECHNICIAN ,and other aspects in the medical profession.

I'm creative and artistic with three or four projects always in the works! Also, I have a fitness/post rehab therapy background and have been a nutritional counselor since 2002. As well as being a C.N.A./Med Tech, I've owned and operated a meal delivery service for people who have special dietary requirements or they want healthy, tasty meals in their fridge, ready to eat in minutes! Being a caregiver has enabled me to assist many people and families at a time that can be extremely difficult. I enjoy having the opportunity to give my time and expertise, and helping to preserve a person's dignity when they may feel lost. Kindness and patience goes a long way here.

I have been a caregiver my entire adult life. As a retired RN, I have been focusing on caring for the senior population. This began with caring for my own mother for 5 years. Elder care is very rewarding. I love getting to know each client and try to personalize the care they receive. This often includes talking to family members and getting input as to what brings joy to each clients life, as well getting the clients to tell me about their lives. In other words each person has different likes and dislikes, and different physical and emotional needs. It is extremely important to me to treat each and every client with respect and dignity, and to help them maintain as much independence as they are capable of.

I love caregiving because it gives me a wonderful and fulfilling sense of responsibility. I never used to work in the field until I was offered a job at an award winning facility in Colorado, ever since then I've loved it! I am certified in QMAP (qualified medication administration personnel), First Aid/AED, and CPR. I enjoy being a companion to anyone I care for, the best part about caregiving is being a friend to someone and learning about them. I enjoy doing a multitude of things to care for someone including (but not limited to) cooking, cleaning, bathing, toileting, transporting, shopping, ect. I directed a therapy department I am currently a therapist who is excited to help senior improve their own functional mobility which would be an exciting part of accepting me to help with your loved one.
