What makes me feel great about being a caregiver is that the client is loyal,and always happy. I am tolerant,patient,humble,able to work with tough clients.I also treat the client like if he or she was like my family.I don't take anything personal.I love my job and I'm patience I'm always nice and courteous I always put their needs first before mine.

I have been a senior companion for over 10 years. When I work with seniors, I take it very personal to see them satisfied and happy. I tune in with their personalities and preferences, and adjust our activities according to what they enjoy, what empowers them and what keeps their emotional, mental and health condition as good as possible. I am flexible, and adjust easily to what my clients need. I become their best friend and feel like a family. We have fun, stay safe and healthy. Caring for an elder person is a very personal business and their quality of life and health depend on it. I saved lives, made lives better and always have my client's best in heart. My career as a senior companion happened very naturally and holistically. It didn't start as a career but as a neighbor helping neighbor and friend helping friend. Helping "straight from my heart", with my natural tendency to be there for people in need, became a profession as a natural progression of what I love to do and what I am good at. My aging mother who suffered from early-onset Alzheimer's first opened my eyes to the challenges of caring for an aging parent. I attended seminars, took courses and got my Nursing Assistant certification to care for her. I learned a lot of patience and tactics for working with the elder population. One of the joys and, I think, one of my strengths as a caregiver is providing companionship , stability and finding fun and meaning in unlikely places.

became a caregiver because i worked at hospitals and so many of the elderly patients when going home had no one to care for them at home. so i decided and go out in that field of in home care and have been doing it for the last 22 yrs. what i like about being a caregiver is the fact that you work one on one and get to know the clients needs very well and i am not in a time clock or just a number as to working in facilities. Personal achievement is that i get so involved with the family n the elderly that after a while they are like family to me and i like going extra miles in helping out and not just for the amount of pay. i live in Sun City, CA. and have been very proud of myself in helping out the elderly because at the end of the day its always very rewarding.

Outside of raising six children, I've been a care giver for 26 years. I worked in children's ministry at a church four times a week for 18 years. I took care of my dad when he was dying from cancer. I served my Neighbor meals twice a day for several years. When he came down with cancer, his daughter hired me to take care of him while he was dying at the age of 96. In September 2019 I became companion caregiver to a 90 year-old man that has dementia. I really enjoy this type of work because I get to be part of giving a person a great quality life for him to enjoy! My number one priority is to keep him safe and healthy! I take him to museums, back Bay for a picnic/walks, park picnic/walk, and or a walk around the neighborhood. I stimulate his mind with crossword puzzles, we play together because sometimes he can get lost in the puzzle. Or sometimes we play cards. I encourage and assist him in do his daily exercises because he lose track of what he's doing. My number one goal is to give a good quality life to senior citizens because they deserve it!

I can speak both English and Chinese. I am a senior caregiver with CPR and live scan. I have the California Home Care Aid Registry. I have TB test and the flu shot in October. I had full vaccinated for COVID-19. I am super patient and caring . I think I have the gift of taking care of others. I have compassion on my work, I can put smiles on my clients' face.I am a good listener. I treat my clients as my own families with a loving heart.I feel proud of my job ,because I bring peace and love to them. I experienced; Alzheimer's,dementia,MSA and hospice care. I also experienced G-tube,suction machine, hoyer lift and catheter. I gave my clients not only life assistance but also loving.And I got love from them,too.
