I'm a patient person, I know to take care of elderly you need that. Even when I take care of an abusive person, I always try to understand the patient. I chose to become a caregiver after I took of my grandpa, I enjoy doing it even the patients are not my family. What I like the most about being a caregiver is the fact that I always think about me or my family being on my patients situation and someone else will take good care of them because I did it for others.

I am compassionate, positive, hardworking, reliable and honest. These are the qualities that make me an excellent Caregiver/Companion. My experience comes from assisting my mother care for my father when he was diagnosed with multiple types of cancer. My next endeavor came years later when I became my mother's sole caregiver. She suffered from dementia. After her passing, I decided to make caregiving my new career. In my first position in my new career I was a Live In 24/7 Caregiver for a lovely lady with dementia, I was with her for 2 1/2 years until her passing. I consider myself a kind, responsible and organized person. I studied practical nursing in Puerto Rico and practiced it for a year. I enjoy being able to help and care and make people feel safe and loved. I am proud of being able to face my fears and always keep on learning. I'm very caring and loving. The thing that attracted me to being a caregiver was working in a hospital in dietary and seeing how I made a big difference and residents day. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is making a difference and being about to help and show the residents love they feel isn't there for them anymore. I have over 25 + years of successful customer service experience within the workplace. I'm punctual with my time and strive daily in treating people the way I want to be treated. The "caring aspect" is what gravitated me in caring for others. I believe in the law of reaping/sowing (what you dish out in life always comes back to you good and bad), and because of that, I considered my older years at a young age when I may be in need of assistance of receiving care in return. I love meeting people from all walks of life and have successfully cared for clients at nursing home facilities as a CNA, eventually transitioning as a caregiver in client's homes.

I love aged people just as I love babies, I enjoy taken care of them, I respect them for what they are. It is sad to say but once a man twice a child, meaning most human living long ,can reach to a condition that we can't help ourselves, also having a desease is a stage that we cannot control and that is the reason why families, care givers and everyone in general should has respect for the elderly and the helpless people, treat them as You would like to be treated.
