I have been a CNA for 20+ years and a Med. Aide for 15+ years. I have experience in long term care, home care and assisted living settings. I am a caring and compassionate individual. I treat those that I care for as I would, if I was caring for my parent's or grandparent's.

I enjoy the elderly population and having the opportunity to assist them to be able to stay in their own homes with friends and family available to be around them. It is my passion to communicate with the elderly population and glean wisdom and their understanding of life. I respect who they are and where they have been. It is rewarding to me to spend time with individuals and become a companion and friend. About 15 years ago I was able to purchase a large home for my family with a mother-in-law apartment. We all lived there together until she decided to move to a senior living facility. I believe it was the right thing to do and would do it again but you can not also predicted what the other person really wants. I am a caring person who enjoys being around people. I love adventure and new situations. I have learned a lot about myself in the last 3 years as I have enjoyed working as a medication aide and then as the activity director in an assisted living facility.I have extensive training in Alzheimer/dementia care and I have completed training in a program called Powerful Tools for Caregivers. I have in the past worked with the elderly in their home and am looking forward to doing it again.

I am a very intuitive and empathetic person, I adhere to professional standards and universal practices for Nursing assistance, medication distribution and Restorative/Rehabilitation nursing. I also tend to get to know my seniors on a more personal level, I enjoy talking with folks and going down "memory lane" I love to listen to and share stories, anecdotes, and time. I believe that there should be a more individualized touch and genuine concern for the people entrusted to my care. Quality of life and activities for daily living goes much more deeply than tasks/chores/duties accomplished for a person, it entails respectful concern, dignity and grace and most of all a love for the service provided.

I show both empathy and compassion, i will let the person im caring for know that i care about the them and want to do what i can to help them. Im Patient , sensitive, have a giving nature , and nurturing.

What makes me a great caregiver: I'm fun, outgoing, energetic, talker, a great listener, love to be busy. I became a caregiver because of my dad. He had gotten sick back in 2008 and I didn't like the way he was treated and not getting the treatment he deserved. So I don't want any family to go through what I did with my dad. So it was my dad who turned me into the best caregiver I can be. The best part about being a caregiver is being one on one with my client. Giving them all of me not just part. A personal achievement I have is being able to keep my clients HAPPY and in there own HOME . If I can do that then in my heart I know I'm doing what I'm suppose to do.

I became caregiver because I like to help people. I did childcare from age 11 up till I graduated high school. Thought it be a nice change of pace to help adults. To know that the people I take care of have the best care possible and the gratitude they show when they get that kind of care. I do my job with compassion and want the person receiving care to always feel safe and happy.

My great-grandmother was in a nursing home and was abused and neglected. So I became a CNA, while I can not rescue everyone, I can make sure that anyone under my care will receive the best possible care. I absolutely, love helping others, its just a rewarding job, getting paid to do what I love to do. My personal achievement would be having four wonderful kids and being able to still work. I am an honest, trustworthy, dependable, loving human being. I volunteer at church when I can, I have volunteered as JV coach for volleyball and basketball. I also coached girls softball and made it to finals, unfortunately, we lost first round, but we still made it.
